Chapter 4 - why dont you have friends round?

Worst night sleep ever, the headacahe, the damn headache would not go away, mouse didn't know but, I had a doctors appointment that morning,and mouse was not going to know, I sneaked out the door and got in the car, to the first appointment at 8 in the morning. When I got to the doctors, the woman on the desk had just sat down with her coffee "het appointment at 8 for Charlie Jenkinson" "I've got you booked in, you're the first appointment you should go in shortly!" She smiled kindly at me and just as I sat down Dr Malacy came through "Charlie, follow me" he smiled kindly at me, my stomach suddenly started to do somersaults, I followed him into the rom and sat down on the chair. He brought up all my notes "okay Charlie how are you feeling?" "Truthfully? Like crap, the headaches have been bad, and I guess you're going to tell me why...assuming you have my results?" I looked at him as he nodded, I took a big breath as he brought up another page, red writing all over it "come on then doc, tell me the worst..."

I drove home, with old shopping bags in hand so mouse thought I'd been early for the deals, I walked in the house, mouse came over and took the bags from me, "Charlie?" "Yo" I looked at him "you been crying?" "No" "Charlie..." "My eyes have been itching! That's all!" I walked over to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water "so what's happening today?" Mouse as about to answer when summer walked in with a few friends "that's what's happening" "AHHH Sophie! Kacy and Laura how are you!" "Great thanks Charlie, how are you?" Laura looked at me, "I'm so so" I smiled at her as summer walked past me "we're gonna go out to the pool that okay?" "Yeah fine Hun, have fun" I kissed her cheek as she grabbed a few bottles of water and her iPad, before disappearing outside with the three girls.

It got to about 2 in the afternoon when we waved Summer's friends off and closed the door, summer went to her room to change, Alex was playing on his play station when I flicked his ear "ow! Hey!" "Why don't you invite your friends over?" He sighed heavily as he took off his headset "mum...not this again" "yes this again! Okay I may be the annoying mum at times but I promise not to embarrass you!" He looked at mouse before looking back at me "Okay fine I'll invite Luke over...and then you'll understand..." He raised his eyebrow and text his friend Luke.

About 10 minutes later the doorbell rang, I told Alex who ran to open the door "okay mum, brace yourself" "what? What do-" "Mrs Jenkinson! Thank you so much for having us over!"  Six friends ran towards me holding flowers and chocolates and one had a bottle of wine "Erm....which of you is Luke?" "Mrs Jenkinson, Luke couldn't make it....so we came instead, he sends his best wishes" "please it's Charlie, and who are all of you?" "That's John, Ryan, Jamie, josh George and Fred" "nice to meet you, now I'm going to go outside, and finish washing my car" I nodded as I put the gifts on the side. I walked outside, it was a hot day, so it was a tank top and shorts, As I sprayed the hosepipe over the car mouse came over behind me and grabbed my hips, digging his fingers in "JESUS!" I dropped the pipe, it went bat shit crazy, spraying the both of us drenching us to the bone, we eventually managed to grab a hold of the hosepipe, and turn it off, "I'm soaked!" I glared at him "but your car is lovely and shiny" I slapped his arm, as I went to slap him again for jabbing my ribs he grabbed my hand, pulled me in and went to press his lips against mine "we have company..." I sighed as we both looked at the window, all 6 friends stood there, gawping at me, at us "wow...mood killer" "well, now we know why he doesn't bring friends around..." mouse got off me and helped to put away the car washing stuff.

It eventually got to the time where the friends had to go, it was 11 at night and they weren't budging, "okay guys! Can I have my house back Please!" John stood up and walked over "Charlie...Mrs Jenkinson, here, before we go, we'd like to give you these and this is my number if you need any other...services..." He smiled at me as he handed over another bunch of flowers and a card with his number on "you're 21..." "And I love older women" "OLDER WOMEN!?!" He began to flounder "no! No! I didn't mean it like that's! Guys lets go quick!!" They all hugged me a little too long each, and kissed my cheek before they walked out the door. Alex looked at me "so...." "They seem lovely" "mum, he called you old, and three of them tried to hit it off with you" "yes...well" "mum be honest..." "Next time you invite them round...make sure I'm not here!" He laughed out loud as he went back to his play station.

That night, mouse was stroking my back, "come on then..." "What?" I didn't look at him "why were you crying earlier?" "I heard a song on the radio!! Hey if we don't work out after all..I can bag myself a toyboy, six of them if I wanted to-" "charlie." He stopped stroking my back and rolled me over, "Charlie!! Hey what's wrong!?!" He sounded panicked as I hid my face behind my hands "I didn't go shopping earlier I was at the doctors" I sobbed into my hands "about your headaches?" "Kinda" I sniffed as I wiped my face "I went for an MRI scan a few weeks ago...I got the results this morning" he sat up, then sat me up "Charlie...what were the results?" "They....they said I have a mass at the back of my eyes, in my brain, like this intracranial pressure or something, mouse I'm scared" he pulled me in tightly "so...so what are they going to do?" "Well, they've booked me in for a lumbar puncture spinal tap thing, which stupidly I googled" he pulled me even tighter "why did you google it!?" "Because I was scared!" "You daft sod" he kissed the top of my head "when's your appointment?" "Next week..." "Right, I'm coming with you, no arguing you're not going through it alone!" "I might just take one of my toyboys with me" I grinned at him as he ousted me back and pinned me down "toyboy ey? What am I an old model now?" "Well..." "I'll show you a bloody old model!" He began to tickle my ribs and kiss into my neck.
