Bonds always break

Past || Leo

"Leo sit still!" Papa says sternly, pulling me closer to him on his lap.

Pouting, I glance across the table to Teo who's on mommy's lap snoring loudly, drool coming out of his mouth.

"Say ahh." Papa says, lifting the spoon of porridge towards me making my nose scrunch in disgust.

A whine leaves my lips as I turn my head into his chest, not wanting to eat the porridge.

Papa sighs, "Leo baby come on, the porridge will help get rid of your cold."

As soon as he says that, I let out a sneeze and whine again at the pain exploding through my head.

"My poor baby." Papa murmurs, rubbing his hand gently on my back.

"Hi Leo!" Alfonzo screams from besides me.

Pulling away from Papa's warm chest, I turn to look at my older brother, a glare resting on my face.

His face is all dirty, grass and sticks are in his hair and his shorts are all torn up. Glancing down, his football shoes are all muddy and he's bought a trail of it into the house.

"Alfonzo." Papa groans, standing up with me in his arms and I wrap my arms around him, laying my head on his broad shoulders.

"Yes dad?" He replies innocently, sending me a wink.

"Clean your mess up and take a bath." He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"The maids can do it." He groans, glancing around the room.

"Alfonzo, listen to your dad." Mommy raises an eyebrow at him, "The quicker you do it, the quicker we can leave and go to your grandparents. Or do you not want to see them?"

Alfonzo rolls his eyes and crosses his arms angrily, "I'd rather stay here."

"Alfonzo-" Mama starts before he glares at her.

"Alfonzo." Papa warns.

"Whatever!" He shouts, running up the stairs.

Mama sighs softly before standing up with a still sleeping Teo in her arms, she walks up to us and gently touches my cheek, "My sick little baby." She murmurs.

Giving me a quick kiss on the head, she whispers, "Why don't you finish your food and we can have a movie night hmm?"

That sounds fun!

Nodding my head quickly, she laughs, "I'm going to get Teo to have a bath and then we can watch a movie okay?"

Papa sits down with me again and this time I finish all my porridge.

"Achoo!" Sniffling, I toss the tissue into the bin next to me, grabbing another one from the almost empty box.

"I wish I was sick." Alfonzo mumbles, shaking his wet hair around.

Some water droplets hit my face and I glare at him, kicking him with my feet from my place on the bed.

"Ow!" He whines, clutching his stomach.

"Sorry." I mumble before grinning at him.

"You little shi-"

The door bursts open and Alonzo walks in, his eyes immediately looking at Alfonzo. Stalking forwards, he grabs Alfonzo's arm and tugs him away from the bed.

"What are you doing?" Alfonzo asks, pulling back and sitting closer to me on the bed.

Alonzo frowns, crossing his arms, "You're supposed to help me with my homework remember? Dad said he won't take me if it's not finished!"
