Friday Night Bites

Caroline overslept and decided not to go to school.

She called Elisabeth,"Hi... So I am skipping school today. Do you want to hang out?" She was a bit nervous waiting for a response.

"I am spending a lot of time in my garden. You can join if you want to be surrounded by dirt and plants." Elisabeth told her.

"Sure. It sounds fun. Be there in a like a hour."

Elisabeth got ready for the day. She had a denim short overall and a yellow crop top underneath. She walked downstairs and saw her dad in the kitchen, drinking out of a bloodbag and there was a plate of pancakes for her.

She sat down and started eating and after she finished said,"Caroline is coming over soon. We are probably going to be in the garden. But still don't do vampire things, okay."

"Sure, remember sunscreen." He was glad she had a friend, but it is new territory to have humans over. It is probably the first human, besides compelled people.

Bonnie and Elena was talking on the way to class,"I'm not saying don't date the guy. I'm just saying take it slow."
Elena looked at her confused and stated," You were the one who said to go for it."

Elena wanted her to spill her guts and she did,"I accidentally touched Stefan. And I got a really bad feeling.
You know what? I'm just concerned. This is me expressing concern about my best friend's new boyfriend."

Elena and Stefan started talking after Bonnie ran and Elena made some plan,"Perfect. Dinner, my house. 8:00. You, me, and Bonnie. You two will spend some quality time and she'll get to see what a great guy you are. Mission accomplished."

They heard a knock and there stood Caroline in her cheer practice clothes.

"I have cheer practice in like three hours and decided to wear this."

Ellie gave a small smile and said,"Well, come on in."

Damon also stood in the hallway waiting for an introduction. Ellie pointed to him and introduced him,"Caroline. This is my dad,Damon."

Damon politely shook her hand and and said,"Well, I am leaving for a bit. See you girls later."

Later both girl were in the garden. Caroline could see Elisabeth physically become more excited and more outgoing in the garden.

Like it was her safe space and Caroline was invited into it.

"Thanks for inviting me. It means a lot."

Ellie hear the vulnerability in her tone and looked at her and said,"You are an amazing person. I am just glad we are friends."

Caroline grabbed her into a hug and gave a giggle at how stiff she was, but Ellie got a bit more comfortable.

They were starting to plant Lavender, when some insect stung Caroline on her neck. Ellie quickly moved her inside and got some healing cream and some ice for the swelling.

"Shit. I am so sorry. Never had something like that happen to me."

Caroline gave her a smile,"I am okay.Well, of course nothing happens to you. You're like Snow White with animals. But I am to go soon. Do you have a scarf or something I can borrow for practice?"

Ellie quickly grabbed a few options and Caroline chose the red one. Caroline tried starting her car but it wouldn't.

She knew not having her car checked out after a light appeared, would bite her in her ass one day.
