The morning came in quietly.
Sunlight spilled through the hotel windows like honey, slow and golden, brushing over white sheets and casting soft shadows on the walls. Birds chirped faintly in the distance, and the city outside began to stir.
Jungkook blinked awake to the sound of his alarm buzzing faintly from the bedside.
He reached out, smacked it once, and groaned into the pillow.
The bed was too big.
Too cold.
He lay still for a moment, letting the warmth of sleep slip off him.
Then he sat up, hair a mess, the oversized black sleep shirt hanging off one shoulder. He rubbed his eyes and glanced at the wall beside his bed — the one that separated him from Taehyung.
Just a wall.
But last night, it had felt like an ocean.
Jungkook sighed and stretched his arms above his head.
“Time to stop being dramatic, Jeon Jungkook,” he muttered.
He quickly washed up, threw on a soft cream sweater and loose beige pants, added a small silver earring, and tousled his hair in the mirror until it looked “Paris messy” — his own term for stylish chaos.
Just as he was about to open the door to go knock on Taehyung’s, he froze.
His door was already being knocked.
He blinked.
Opened it slowly.
Taehyung stood there, dressed in a dark turtleneck and brown overcoat, sunglasses hanging from his collar, a soft coffee aroma lingering around him.
He looked freshly showered and heartbreakingly expensive.
“Morning,” Taehyung said, voice still a little low from sleep.
Jungkook leaned against the frame and smirked. “You miss me that much already?”
Taehyung raised a brow. “I was about to ask you to breakfast. But if you’re going to be a brat, I can go alone.”
Jungkook grinned. “Fine, fine. Let me grab my phone.”

They stepped out into the crisp morning air, the sky a watercolor blue scattered with white clouds. The streets were calm, not yet crowded, and every corner smelled like croissants and melted butter.
After a few turns, Taehyung led them to a quiet café tucked in a side street, with ivy curling up its stone walls and pale green doors that opened with a soft creak.
The waitress smiled and led them to a small table near the window.
Sunlight kissed their table, painting gold over the polished wood.
Jungkook sat first, pressing his cheek to the cool glass beside him. “This is nice.”
Taehyung nodded. “It’s one of my favorites. I came here last time I was in Paris. Alone.”
“You travel alone a lot?”
Taehyung glanced at him. “Not anymore, apparently.”
Jungkook tried to ignore the way his heart did a flip.
