A few minutes had passed since the blackout occurred before Liam could lift a hand on the power generator.
The voices around Nathaniel's surroundings were becoming muffled, the darkness consuming his senses.
He wished he had asked Liam for a small dagger earlier so he would have known how to stop himself from hyperventilating in such situations.
But then again, they weren't expecting a blackout to happen out of the many problems they were already dealing with.
He suddenly hated the amount of space around him. He needed to hold onto something before he could faint.
His skin felt flesh touch his bandaged wrist although the hyperventilation didn't get any worse due to the bandages on his plans preventing him from feeling as much of the fleshed skin.
"Nath." he heard Liam say his name, his voice becoming less muffled in the dark.
He began to shield his eyes from the light being pointed in his face.
"Sorry, here. Take my monopad so I can activate the flashlight on yours," he offered as Nathaniel reached into his pocket to give him his.
Liam began to pause, staring at Nathaniel's monopad.
"What is it?" he asked him.
"It's nothing, here," he dismissed, giving back Nathaniel's monopad with the flashlight feature of it activated.
Regaining consciousness back, he was able to closely look at everyone else who had their flashlights on.
Lin was still clutching onto Elijah, looking too out of it to be able to be left alone.
"So much for the power generator," Jackson mumbled, walking past it.
"We'll come back to it after we find the cause of this blackout. Right now we'll stick together until we find an easier location where we can split up," Liam suggested as they made their way out of the backstage of the gymnasium.
Liam lead them through the hallway past the empty classrooms, leading them back to the hallway where all the ultimate labs are located.
He stopped as he and Easton took notice of the door to Elijah's lab.
"Yeah, it's new. You guys can check it out later too after we get the power back on," Jackson mentioned, urging them to continue further into the darkened hallway.
Liam stopped in his tracks as they halted to a stop in front of the wooden doors of the library.
"Wait here," he instructed them as he went inside.
When he came back out, he held a vast piece of blue paper.
"That's-
"Should be familiar, isn't it Miles?" he said as he tossed it to him.
"Then why are you handing it to me?" he questioned, his eyebrows raised in confusion.
"Yeah, for all we know he can run and take off with it," Jackson quipped.
Easton rolled his eyes at his comment, "If I was to run off with this, what would be the point-
"For fuck's sake, we know. Your precious proposition," Jackson sneered a him.
"I'm asking you to hold it, not lead us. Eli can do the leading," Liam stated.
"Me? You want me to lead? What if I get us lost?" Elijah questioned him with uncertainty.
"You won't, you'll lead better than any of us here. I'll hold onto Lin so she won't get lost while you lead us," he suggested as she immediately went to hug Liam, giggling uncontrollably.
