"A body has been discovered! After a certain amount of time, which you may use however you like, the class trial will begin!"

Then, all he heard was the footsteps approaching from outside, ready to witness that one of their classmates had died.

Easton still couldn't believe it, just yesterday, Justin was standing in front of him and how he laid lifeless on the library floor.

If he thought his reaction was worse, he glanced over at Akihiro who was muttering something inaudible as Jackson continued to shake him.

"This wasn't supposed to happen."

Easton agreed. The three of them promised each other that they would all escape together.

Sweet Justin, never to see the light of day once again, not able to live to taste another treat greater than his appetite for sweets.

As soon as the body discovery announcement came on, the footsteps approaching them became louder.

"Guys! Did you hear what Monokuma said?!"

"That bear is fucking broken. What does he mean by-

"GAHHHH-

Preston screamed as he clutched to hug Nathaniel but this time, Nathaniel didn't push him off but stared at the lifeless body of Justin Lune.

"I-Is that.."

"Yeah, it is," Jackson answered with a nod, knelt beside Akihiro.

"You're got to be kidding."

"Preston! NATH! There you are, what do you mean there's a-

Looking at one another, Nathaniel and Preston were alerted at Calista and Andrew's presence.

"So..don't freak out..," Preston started.

"AHHHHH!"

"Don't freak out? Is that why Monokuma's voice came on the speakers?!"

And one by one, the rest of the students started to flood in.

Everybody who wasn't with them during their exploration started to burst into the library, running as quickly as they could.

"What's going on? What does that bear mean by-

Surprised reactions of gasps, screams and disbelief followed as each turned their attention at the body which laid in a pool of blood.

"N-No..," Lin gasped in horror.

"Is he really-

"Yeah, he is."

"So it's started..,"Maeve noted, observing those around her.

"W-Why him?"

Preston and Nathaniel both tried to approach Easton and Akihiro but Jackson's look gave both of them the caution to give the other two some space.

Easton couldn't shake out the hopeful and brightness that were written on the features from Justin's face.

All was taken away from him in that moment.
