Ding, Dong! Bing, Bong!
"A body has been discovered! After a certain amount of time, which you may use however you like, the class trial will begin!"
Elijah Jamie-Louis lay there, cold dead on the ground.
"T-There's a class trial,..." he heard Easton mumble in disbelief, hoping he had heard Monokuma wrong.
Nathaniel couldn't respond as his eyes couldn't take themselves off the sight of Elijah's corpse on the ground.
"He was just fine....he was alright just this morning....," he thought.
"If I had just-
There was no use having a mindset filled with regrets, if it hadn't been Elijah, someone else was bound to die as soon as they had exited the cafeteria.
By how the figure he and Easton had seen earlier were making their moves, a murder was their intention.
Although none of it made sense, they all said it was over.
The motive was over.
Unless that's not what everyone believed for as far as they knew a murder hadn't occurred yet.
Until now.
He heard soft footsteps from outside starting to approach nearer to where they were.
Lin reappeared at the end of the hallway, running towards where they were.
Glancing a quick look at Nathaniel, Easton began to block her path.
"I-I heard the announcement!" she exclaimed in an alarmed tone.
"Lin, maybe you-
"Who was it? I-I thought the murder had already happened?!," she interrupted Easton, her voice frantic as she demanded answers immediately.
"Are the others here? I left Eli for a second since I saw someone from one of the hallways run out of the infirmary-
She stopped as she was getting irritated as Easton positioned himself where Lin could not see.
"Yes but maybe-
"Are the others not here? Where's Eli?"
Nathaniel felt his gut sicken from the naivety and innocence in Lin's tone upon that question.
"W-Wait, who is it?" she finally asked when neither Easton nor Nathaniel responded to her previous question.
"Nath?"
He stood still, unresponsive to Lin as his eyes stared into nothing.
"Get out of the way," Lin demanded Easton.
Easton didn't look like he was about to move, but with a sigh, knowing Lin would just fight about letting her through, he gave in to defeat by stepping to the side to let her pass.
He didn't seem like he'd want to cause a scene beyond what was already before him.
Lin still didn't seem to understand what the situation was as she raised an eyebrow at both Easton and Nathaniel's strange reactions.
"Why can't you just tell me who...," her voice began to trail off as her eyes then started to look down to what was down in front of her.
"No.."
"I-It's not true. No, it can't be him..."
She fell to her knees, the streams of tears from her eyes overflowing quickly as an expression filled with shock and hurt appeared on her usual happy features.
