The gymnasium echoed silently as everyone was stunned by what they had just heard from Monokuma.

"Just so we're clear, you expect us to believe that you're using a disease as a motive?," Hunter questioned him, clearly not buying the information that Monokuma is selling onto them.

"Were you even listening?" Jackson remarked, rolling his eyes at him

"Of course I was!" Hunter scoffed back.

"It's just that it's completely bizarre that Monokuma managed to get some virus to infect every one of us in the first place. Aside from that fact, the symptoms he's telling us about the virus don't even make sense."

"And the past motives do?" Liam broke in.

"Shut it Iz-

"No let him finish, he always makes a good point anyhow.  It's better than a made-up lie, wouldn't you say?" Jackson cut him off, a hint of an attack in his words.

"Would you trust a murderer?" Hunter questioned him in a snarky tone.

"Better than trusting a liar," Jackson retorted back to him.

"Puhuhuhu. The motive hasn't lasted more than an hour and everyone is already on edge!" Monokuma exclaimed, delighted by the heated tension that was going around in the room.

"Jack-," Nathaniel attempted to stop him, not wanting him to become a target for the others because of him potentially.

"And since when did you care? The mastermind can choose who lives or dies now I see," Preston started to comment out loud as Nathaniel attempted to stop the fire about to erupt in the room.

"He does care, y-you're the one who pushed him away!" Elijah protested, surprising Nathaniel that even he was joining the argument.

"People have died because of him. People I cared about have died because of choosing to befriend someone like him!" Preston exclaimed.

"You don't know how much I've lost because of him."

"I don't want to die...I'm sorry...."

Nathaniel kept on hearing the voices of the dead ringing in his ears.

Lin began to let out a hard, cold laugh from Preston's statement.

"Oh have you? You've suffered the most?" she questioned him.

"Don't forget, you're a murderer."

"That wasn't Preston's fault!," Calista began to defend him.

"Nevertheless, you don't get to blame your wrongs on others, Declan..," Lin scoffed.

"Now, now everybody! Fighting isn't-

"Now shut it Monomi, don't ruin the fun as you usually do," Monokuma interrupted her, startling everyone at the sudden change of tone Monokuma projected at Monomi.

The room fell silent again, not knowing whether to keep the fiery tension present for them all to themselves or out loud.

Amanda was the first to break that silence, clearing her throat.

"I think we've all reached a misunderstanding," she began to declare out loud.

"Misunderstanding sure seems like a stretch," Nathaniel heard Easton mumble.

"The motive is like any other so it shouldn't make us riled up and turn against one another."

"I'm pretty sure that suggestion was thrown out the window a long time ago," Jackson scoffed with a roll of his eyes.
