ASHTON'S POV
School this week has been awful. Annabelle ignored me the entire week, made excuses not to see me, seemed to be busy. Except, I knew she wasn't busy, she was simply not interested. Ever since Sunday, she has seemed so off, if I tried to talk to her, she had to 'go,' and I can't help it, but it frustrate me. I don't know, we've been close for a while, now she's just decided to keep her distance.
My mind keeps racing, wondering what I did to make her so distant, but I can't think of anything. Plus, her tramp of a 'best friend' has been all over me. Not trying to sound cocky, but she literally was, always wanting to be near me, would attempt to sit on my lap in the cafeteria, causing Annabelle's eyes to widen as she puts her head down. It's uncomfortable, to say the least.
I keep asking Annabelle if she's alright, always getting a simple nod and then she walks away, it's really frustrating me, I caught feelings for her so quickly, now I feel like an absolute dickhead.
"Ash! Snap out of it dude." Michael yells as he clicks in my face, my attention focusing now on the boys as we practice for our gig tonight. I can't say I'm not nervous because hell, I am.
"The bar opens in half an hour, let's run through 'American idiot,'" Luke breathes in deeply, "Then 'What I like about you,' the other songs are sweet, we'll just get these to perfection." He stresses.
As we continue the practice, it gets to about 5 minutes before opening, and we are all nervously walking in circles.
My phone buzzes off, causing me to jump a little bit. I swipe my finger across the screen, typing in my 4 digit key code and open up the text message I had received.
From: Annabelle x
Good luck, you'll do an awesome job,
I'll explain later. Hugs to the boys, and yourself
of course. XoxoxoxA large grin decorated my lips as it formed into a full on smile. It was also a massive relief she was able to talk to me, but I was confused still. Nevertheless, I wasn't going to ask questions until I saw her.
My fingers tapped across the screen as I typed a reply.
To: Annabelle x
I'm hoping you come tonight? XxAlmost instantly, my phone buzzes again.
From: Annabelle
I don't think I'll be able to, Rosie doesn't
like me near you :\
Talk later yeah? Good luck Ash, do your
best xAlthough I'm disappointed that she can't show up, I can't help but smile that she and I are talking again.
"Ashton, we're up!" Calum squeezes my arm, nervously. Shivers run throughout my body as I breathe shakily.
"It'll be fine man, the adrenaline of being up there kicks in almost right away." Michael pats my shoulder.
"No matter how many times he's performed, each time he gets nervous, not that he should, listen to his fucking voice man." Calum adds as we watch Luke walking in circles, whipping his hands from side to side. He scurries towards us and we huddle into a circle.
"We got this lads." Luke says, scared, but ready to rock the fuck out of this place.
"We'll be fucken sick boys." I pop in, causing them all to laugh.
"The entertainment for tonight is a new group of high school lads, give it up for 5 Seconds of Summer!" The bartender shouts through the mic, with people clapping.
