ASHTON'S POV
"I understand how disrespectful she was towards you Mrs Harris, but it's her eighteenth, the boys and I would very much like to surprise her with this road trip, I would stay in full contact, if you must, you can contact my mother, she would gladly reassure you about our full safeness on the road." I speak in a whole, calm mouthful.
I have planned as a surprise for Annabelle's 18th birthday that the boys and I will go on our road trip, and even more exciting, it's back to where I used to live, about a 4-6 hour drive.
"Where will you be staying?" She questions.
"My cousin's apartment, he is away for the week." I quickly respond, lying. Knowing Harry will be home.
She sighs and sucks in a deep breath, "Well I guess she can go, but you make sure she is safe Ashton, I'm guessing you need money for gas, food and what not?" She smiles peacefully, my shoulders relaxing, gladly.
"No, no, I have it covered, don't worry."
She laughs and shakes her head, walking to the kitchen and grabbing her wallet, pulling out a few large amounts of dollar bills, handing them to me.
"Joanne, I can't except all this." I nervously mumble, not wanting to take the large amount of cash she is offering.
"Accept it and let it be for Annabelle then." She smirks, causing me to chuckle and thank her dearly.
I walk up towards Annabelle's room and her mother stops me.
"She's grounded, smashed her phone because of it. No phone, laptop or friends until her birthday, besides, she is probably still asleep." I shrug my shoulders as a response.
Joanne laughs, "She is very annoyed she cannot see you, you know?" Causing me to blush.
"I'll see her in a few days, catch you up Joanne, have a nice day." I smile as I flash a wave and walk out the front door, not heading back to my house, but climbing up the tree.
As I reach the balcony, I try not to make any noise. My arm extends itself to the glass door handle and it won't budge, it's locked. So I walk a few meters to my right and open the room I spent my first night with Annabelle in, her brother's room. This door however is open, so as quietly as I can, I open it, the hinges creaking slightly.
I close the door behind me and walk towards the entrance of the room, leading into the hallway which is where will lead me into Anna's room.
As I get in her bedroom, I see a little human curled up in a ball, a white sheet covering her petite frame. As I strolled quietly over, I saw her face, her hand over her face slightly, but her mouth still visible as her lips were only just parted, soft and tiny snores escaping her mouth as her nose twitched.
I crouched down beside her bed and tapped on her shoulder gently, causing her to groan as her eyes remained closed, but frown lines creasing along her forehead. As I tapped her shoulder again her eyes opened slowly, as they lock with mine and she grins.
"Morning." She squeaks as she opens her arms, signalling for a hug. I lean in as she wraps her arms around my neck, pulling me on top of her as I chuckle, the laugh becoming muffled with her hair on my mouth as I lay awkwardly on top of her, still hugging her.
She disconnects her arms from m shoulders as I roll over, off of her and beside her on the empty side of the bed, I notice she is wearing my shirt.
"It's not the morning Anna, it's 12:30pm." I smirk, her eyes widening, then relaxing.
"I'm grounded anyway." She huffs, lying on her back and crossing her arms, frowning, "which is why I'm wondering how my mother let you in?"
I scratch the back of my neck, "Well when someone is locked up for a few days they usually need someone to hang out with, so I snuck in, seeing as you're not allowed friends over, you're still going to need company! We can chill listen to music or whatever!" I exclaim, throwing my hands up in the air.
She pulls her hand to her mouth and laughs, "I don't even have any music Ash."
I pull out my iPod classic from my tight black skinny jeans and wave it in front of her face, "Aah, but I have this!" Then I continue feeling my back pocket, trying to locate my earphones, not being able to find them, "But I left my earphones at home and really can't be bothered going back home." I huff a sigh and collapse my head back on the pillows.
"I got some, did you know I smashed my phone last night when I got home?" She huffed again, and I laughed.
"You remember last night?" I question her, turning on to my side, watching her as she lays on her back.
She turns her head so she's looking at me, "I remember hitting Rosie, yeah I do remember everything, just looking back now, it doesn't make sense, like my actions, I'm just thinking back to it and," she stops and laughs, "What I did doesn't make sense."
I repeat the action, laughing hard until the laughter dies down and I turn on my back.
"You like my shirt huh?" I tease, and she laughs, I can see she's embarrassed.
"It's nice to sleep in alright?" She remarks as she grabs her headphones and plugs it into my iPod, scrolling through the music.
ANNABELLE'S POV
I find a song that hits my heart, warming it as it is one of my new favorites. I push down on the button of the old device and place it between Ashton and I, the gap only small enough for the square device to fit in.
"White blood by Oh Wonder, great choice Anna." He turns his head to look at me and I look back at him and smile.
"Too bad it's undiscovered, I'm glad you know it though." I tell him, as he nods as sings softly to the song.
He puts his hand in the air and I do the same, our fingers touching every so often, as they tangle with each other, softly releasing every so often as we both sing softly to the music, our voices slipping perfectly together.
It was moments like these I would remember and cherish forever. It wasn't a normal high school boy trying to get in your pants, a quick tap then gap. No, sure Ashton was cheeky, and good at teasing me, but never once had he tried to do anything with me.
"Nice voice Irwin." I smirk as I look over to him, he glances back at me and grins.
"I could say the same to you."
