Life is normal. You're going to the same school with your triplets, just a couple of "minor" family issues in the background, but other than that, it's normal.
You develop small feelings for a new kid, which you know he doesn't feel back because he'...
Yo wassup guys. So. Sorry for not posting for about... almost a month 😅
Also sorry for not posting (or writing) the Valentines day special... I forgot... anyways...
I haven't felt any inspiration but WHO CARES LET'S DO THIS-
Previously on...
We're Not Dead Yet, Right?
We all sat onto the concrete ledge, Logan quickly joining us. The rain slammed into us brutally, as if telling us not to jump. Even if we didn't survive, it's better than being their lab rats.
"Alright," I said, gripping my triplet's hands like a lifeline. "Let's pray we don't die."
Tyler's free hand dragged through his soaked brown hair. His hand gripped mine tight as well. "I can't believe this. Out of all the stupid things we've done, this has to be the absolute worst."
I smiled at him- or tried to. It felt strained.
"On the count of three," Ashlyn said. "One... Two... Three."
My already battered body slammed into the metal train car, rolling backward. My eyes flew open, and I dug my hands into the cold car, only to realize it was slick because of the rain.
I was falling off the train car. Shit.
Although, my thoughts didn't get far, because a hand caught my wrist, and I looked up to see Aiden's ankle dangling from Ben's hand, who looked like he was holding on for dear life. I would've laughed at the sight, if it weren't such a serious situation.
Ben grunted as he yanked us both up, and I squeezed my eyes closed. I felt arms close around me as we landed back onto the train car. Well, I landed more on the person's body. I slowly opened my eyes, and saw Aiden's face, looking at the others as he sat up, holding me against his chest. Either because of the cold rain or how much my body hurt, I clung to his drenched shirt.
I watched as Tyler pulled Ashlyn up, and noticed how his gaze lingered on her as she assessed everyone. I dragged my gaze over everyone, and noticed the same thing Ashlyn did. "Where's Taylor and Logan?"
Just in time, loud thumps echoed throughout the train, and I ripped from Aiden's grasp, rushing to an edge as the others yelled their names. Ben was faster, and got to the edge before me. I grabbed Aiden's wrist when I saw the body on the rail. If he fell...
"Logan?!" Aiden exclaimed.
"Did you find him?"
"What about Taylor?!"
Suddenly, Logan's small frame slipped, and I almost jumped off the edge. Luckily, Taylor appeared out of nowhere, grabbing him, shaking him lightly. "Logan- Logan buddy, wake up!"
"TAY!" I yelled, and Aiden held my wrist, as if he didn't want me attempting the car jump again.
Taylor looked behind, up at us. "Guys, open the cart doors while I hold on to-"
Logan suddenly screeched, flailing.
Taylor's head whipped over. "Logan! You're okay!"
"I'M NOT! I'M NOT OKAY!" Logan yelled.
I relaxed, and felt Aiden's grip transfer around my torso, as if he still didn't trust me not to jump.
We all sat in the cart, in a circle. Our pants echoed through the cart, and I found myself laying down, head in Aiden's lap.
Taylor was the first to speak. "I can't believe we pulled that off..."
"No one broke anything, right?" Ashlyn perked.
Tyler groaned, "Everything feels broken."
"I don't think so," Logan said, knees to his chest. "I lost my glasses, though."
Aiden hummed, fingers threading through my knotted hair. Ben spelled out wrist sprain in sign language.
Taylor shrugged. "I think I bruised a rib... not broken... probably..."
I closed my eyes, listening to the conversation.
"Did the money Alex gave us make it?" Ashlyn asked.
"Yeah, it's still in my pocket."
"Good, cause the phone definitely didn't."
Aiden's fingers paused. "Oh, I should mention that Ben dented the train car earlier."
"What?" Tyler asked, surprised.
"Like," Aiden continued playing with my hair, "full on crumpled it and left a hand impression. I'm glad I didn't land under him."
"How did he do that?" Tyler asked again.
Ashlyn added in, "Probably the same way I snapped the infected's neck. Even Thay had been able to tackle it."
My eyes stayed closed, but I felt some people glance at me. Ashlyn was right. We'd become faster, stronger, volatile, and violent. What if by the time we find a solution, everyone we love... what if it's too late?
I slowly sat up, and felt Aiden's hands drop from my damp hair. "So, are we all that strong now, or just Ben?"
Logan looked over at me. "Likely all of us, although I'm not sure that's a good sign."
Aiden shrugged, grin back on his face, getting into a crouch. "I could go punch the wall and test it out?"
Tyler rolled his eyes. "Yeah, go break your hand. Smart idea."
"Guys, focus," Ashlyn said. "We'll get off the train once it starts slowing down for its next stop. Then we'll find food, buy some gear, and figure out the best way to get to New York from wherever we end up."
I hummed, not really registering what Ashlyn said, listening to Aiden and Taylor. "I could test it by doing an arm wrestle with Ben instead, then?" Aiden perked, grinning.
Taylor looked up in thought. "Oh, that could work."
I snorted. "Until Ben breaks his hand."
Aiden elbowed me, grinning still. "Then how aboutwe arm wrestle?"
"Hell no, you'd lose so bad your ancestors would be disappointed in you," I laughed. Taylor laughed as well.
"Or I could test it by smacking you," Ashlyn snapped.
