"Yes, of course aunty." Iraj was on the phone trying her best to sound sweet and very well mannered, "I will, sure."

Her eyes found Azfar moving towards his study as she stood in the living room with the phone on her ear.

"Alright, Allah hafiz aunty." She walked towards him and called him out before he could open the door and go inside his favourite place, "Azfar."

(May Allah protect you aunty.)

He turned to look at Iraj who had hurried towards him with a smile, quite unusual at the time of the night when she would mostly be complaining about irrelevant things, "Yes?"

"Your parents are coming to visit us." She happily told him the news that made him very unhappy the moment he heard it.

"What?! They didn't say anything like that to me." He was now looking at her to explain how she had revealed something so indispensable without any doubt. His parents had never visited them since the two years of their marriage, nor he had wanted them to because he knew how pushy they were. Especially his mother. She would get excited for irrelevant matters just like his wife. Two of them in the same house was a bit too much for him. He had always been very satisfied with them being in another city busy with their lives, regardless his mother's complains for not being able to spend time with her son and daughter in law.

"She just called me. We were talking and then she asked if she could visit, so I said yes." Iraj told him with as much precision as possible.

"Why did you even answer the phone Iraj?" Azfar shook his head.

"What do you mean Azfar? Apki ammi hain woh." Iraj pouted with an upset face.

(She's your mother.)

"Sab pagal ek jagah jama honay walay hain. Brilliant!" He exhaled turned the door knob to go inside. "You're supposed to just ignore the calls when she calls, Iraj."

(All lunatics are going to gather at the same place.)

"That's very rude." Iraj pouted and scrunched her nose voluntarily.

"You'll be the one coming and complaining about her very soon to me. Just wait." He stepped inside the study talking with his back towards her.

"Nuh-uh." She huffed and moved to her bedroom.

Iraj was happy that there would be someone else in the house other than her lonely self to spend time with when her husband was at his work. Even though she had a degree in business management she had never been able to do much like her brother with her talents. She also hadn't ever understood why she'd been such a sloppy person all her life. There were times when she'd tried to start her own business with several different ideas but they had never worked out. She always seemed to zone out and lose count of many details about the meetings and everything. And when it was the third time that her business had failed she had vowed to never ask her father to fund her business again.
