"How did you get here? It takes twelve hours to get here, Rehaan bhai had mentioned just last night so—"

"I didn't wait for his response, I had flown in three days back." He took her hand in his again and held it softly.

"Uh, right, so? Hogayi apki dusri shaadi?" She took her hand out of his thinking he must've come here to inform her about it.

(Did you get your second marriage done?)

"Nahi. Nahi hui." He was not able to look away from her face and eyes.

(No. It didn't happen.)

"Okay so?" She nodded lightly avoiding his gaze.

"So?" He moved his hand near hers but she slipped it inside the bedcovers.

"So why are you here if not to inform me about your second marriage?"

"I've come to take you with me." His eyes were boring into hers.

"Why would I go with you?" She frowned.

"I've become wifeless, you must come with me." He was nodding like a homeless man rather than a wifeless.

"Don't lie. You didn't want your wife when you left her in another room on her wedding night. You can get yourself someone who knows what hardship and hard work is. At least that way she won't get insulted by her husband for her lacking." Iraj had a sad smile on her face while speaking.

"Iraj," He held her hands pulling them out of the bedcovers and kissed them, "I am sorry, I am so sorry, I am sorry jaan."

"I'm not your jaan. Be honest." She pulled her hands away for the third time.

"Only you are. I can't live without you, I know you hate me now, it's okay, I deserve it, I am sorry, I'll prove it to you that—"

"I don't want you to do anything, I'm fine here." She had cut him off.

"How can you possibly be fine here? Iraj, I know I've hurt you but you miss our home, I know you do." His words only made Iraj more firm.

"I don't. I'm better here. No one reminds me of how useless I am when I break things here." A lone tear rolled down her cheek.

"I won't do it now, I won't." He wiped her tear and she looked away not believing anything.

"Why? Because I'm sick and a patient now?" Her jaw tightened just the way her chest did with agony.

"Iraj."

"You never, never cared about anything other than you Azfar. Apko bas aisi biwi chahiye thi jo perfect ho. Meri tarah nahi. And I'm not going to get myself insulted ever again. Not even for baba." She inhaled a sharp breath and folded her hands over her chest.

(You only wanted a wife who'd be perfect. Not like me.)

"You are perfect. It was me who wasn't, please Iraj, I said everything without thinking in my anger, you—"
