When they finally got back to the house, it was early afternoon. Hitori and Bakugo helped unload the groceries, then Bakugo tried to sneak upstairs to his room.
"Where do you think you're going, mister?" Mitsuki demanded.
"Bed," he snapped. "I'm tired."
"Oh no you aren't, you're going to bake a cake with Hitori and I!"
"I'm not baking a damn cake!"
"Yes you are! She's your guest, you'll do what she wants to do!"
"Like hell I will!"
"Katsuki Bakugo!"
"So you're a master chef at camp after training all day, but can't bake a cake after shopping?" Hitori asked slyly.
Bakugo narrowed his eyes at her. "Shut it, Scrappy!"
"I bet I can make a better cake than you can."
"You've never even made one before!"
"So? Prove me wrong then."
He growled angrily and stomped toward her. "I'm gonna kick your ass! I'll make a stupid cake so good, you'll beg for some of it!"
Hitori grinned. "You're on."
Mitsuki smiled widely and clapped her hands together. "Alright, let's bake some cakes!"
Bakugo stomped into the kitchen, bumping Hitori's shoulder as he passed her. She rolled her eyes and followed him. His mood swings were nothing new. If anything, it was just showing her how easily she could fluster him and get under his skin. And since she wanted to get to know him more, that information was advantageous.
They set up two stations and got started on making the batter. Mitsuki helped Hitori with it while Bakugo did his own. It was Hitori's first time baking anything, so she was grateful for the help. Once they had all of the ingredients in the bowl, Mitsuki handed Hitori a whisk.
"Alright, start mixing. I'll be right back, I'm going to use the restroom."
"Okay," Hitori said quietly. Mitsuki left the kitchen.
Hitori liked Mitsuki. She treated her with respect and had a lot of patience. And so far, she had not been judgmental. If anything, it was the opposite. Mitsuki was accepting and had done her best to make her feel more comfortable.
A cloud of white powder suddenly overtook Hitori, breaking her from her thoughts. She coughed and waved it away.
Bakugo was snickering.
"Jerk," she coughed.
"That's what you get for making me bake, idiot," he grinned.
Hitori narrowed her eyes at him. He held up another handful of flour. As he went to throw it, she smacked his hand to the side. Another white cloud filled the space between them. She twisted her hand as if she were turning a doorknob. A small tornado scooped up some flour from the bag and dropped it right on top of Bakugo's head.
"Hey!"
"That's what you get!" Hitori grinned.
He grabbed more flour and threw it at her. Hitori returned it in kind. It didn't take long for the entire kitchen to be covered.
"What are you two doing?!"
Hitori and Bakugo froze and looked over at the angry Mitsuki.
"I leave for five minutes and you two make a mess! You're cleaning this up before any more baking happens!"
