After that, school returned to normal. Hitori was back in class daily and caught up on her studies within a few days. She had another session with Midnight the day after the funeral, and now she was actually starting to feel a little bit better.
That weekend, Mina dragged Hitori and most of the rest of the crew out to go to the mall. They walked around for hours looking at the shops, then went back to the dorms for dinner. The only person who didn't spend the afternoon with them was Bakugo since he was at his license training.
"Hey, Bakugo!" Kirishima greeted.
Bakugo and Todoroki were just getting back when they were finishing up preparing the meal.
"How'd it go, you two?" Ida asked, rushing over to them. "A good report I hope?"
"Tch," Bakugo sneered. He walked past Ida with his shoulders hunched.
"It went well," Todoroki said. "We played with a class of kids."
"Little brats," Bakugo grumbled. He stopped behind Kirishima and Hitori and glared over their shoulders at the vegetables they were cooking. "You guys better not be messing anything up!"
"Geez, who shoved a stick up your ass?" Hitori said sarcastically.
"Shut it, Scrappy!"
"They look fine to me," Yaoyorozu said. She was near them and had looked to see what was going on.
Bakugo growled angrily.
"Hey man, we're almost done, so why don't you go change before we eat?" Kirishima smiled nervously. "You're still in your uniform."
"Shut up!" Bakugo turned around and stomped away from them.
Kirishima sighed in relief once he had turned the corner. "What's up with him?"
"He gets hangry," Hitori rolled her eyes. "And kids annoy him."
"Seriously? But they can be so cute!"
"I don't think these were. Not if he's in that bad of a mood."
"How do you even know that, Tori?" Mina asked, sliding over to them. She grinned slyly. "Seems like you know a lot about Bakugo."
"The same reason I know you like dancing and practice almost every night. I pay attention to my friends. Bakugo's always angry right before dinner. And he said kids are annoying at the summer camp."
"Oh yeah, I do remember him saying that at one point," Kirishima said.
Mina's shoulders slumped. "How did you know I practice every night?"
"I can hear your music when I go out on my balcony."
"Ah shoot, does that mean I have to turn it down?" Mina pouted.
Hitori chuckled and shook her head. "Nah, I don't mind at all."
"Do you still take lessons?" Kirishima asked.
"I've had a few here and there, but it's hard to go as often as I used to since we're in the dorms." Mina smiled widely. "But that's okay! I watch a lot of videos that my teacher suggests to me! I can totally show you guys some of my new moves after dinner if you want!"
"Sure, that'd be awesome!"
Hitori smiled slightly. "Sounds like fun."
"Yay! I'm so excited!"
"Looks like the vegetables are ready, Kirishima," Hitori said.
"Yeah, I think so too," he said.
Bakugo returned and walked over to them as Hitori lifted the pan up. He stopped her by putting a hand on her elbow.
