After Yun Zhen's lengthy monologue concluded, the master and disciple fell into a silent stillness.

Suddenly, a soft, ethereal sound came from outside the door.

"Yo ah—"

Qi Xianqing looked up to see a snow-white deer appearing at the door, though she didn't know when it had arrived.

The white deer approached and said, "Yo ah—" as it walked in.

"Ah Jiu, you're here," Yun Zhen greeted.

The white deer nudged Yun Zhen's desk with its head.

This was an exceptionally beautiful white deer, tall and majestic, with antlers branching out like pine tree limbs, and its eyes glowed with a fiery red hue. On its forehead, intricate patterns could faintly be seen.

This was Yun Zhen Xianzi's spiritual companion, a ninth-level Nine-Colored Deer.

Nine-Colored Deers were extremely rare in the human realm; they were named for their ability to display nine different colors in their pupils. Each color represented a different spiritual power.

One had to admit that although Yun Zhen was usually rather carefree, she took excellent care of her spiritual beast.

Suddenly, Qi Xianqing recalled something and asked, "Disciple has a question for Master."

"Speak," Yun Zhen replied.

Qi Xianqing asked, "What if a spiritual pet is disobedient and mischievous, causing trouble at home?"

Yun Zhen said, "Naturally, you must give it a good whipping. Don't be fooled by how adorable they seem; if you don't discipline them well when they're young, they'll grow up to be unruly beasts and create trouble for those around them."

Qi Xianqing frowned slightly. "Master usually uses..."

With a flick of her right hand, Yun Zhen opened a box nearby.

A sleek, black whip appeared in her grasp.

"You keep spiritual beasts?" Qi Xianqing asked.

"No, a friend is raising one," Yun Zhen replied.

Yun Zhen smiled. "You're already at the fourth level; it's time for you to raise a spiritual beast as well. Come with me to Qingqiu Dao to catch one someday."

Qi Xianqing's gaze shifted. "Master, could I borrow this black whip for a bit?"

Yun Zhen waved her hand, and the black whip traced a graceful arc in the air, landing steadily in Qi Xianqing's hand. "If you want to use it, take it. I've said before, just take whatever you need."

After parting with Qi Xianqing that day, Yan Jue had been pondering the Spirit Connection Technique that Qi Xianqing taught her.

Indeed, the Spirit Connection Technique was as difficult as Qi Xianqing had described.

All things in the world possess spirituality, and mastering the Spirit Connection Technique meant mastering the method to communicate with all beings.

Yan Jue looked down at the Xuan Tie in her hand.

She could use her mind to transform the Xuan Tie into a golden collar, but if she grasped the Spirit Connection Technique at a deeper level, she could turn the Xuan Tie into a long sword, whip, or staff.

Just thinking about it made her incredibly excited.

Yan Jue was not being pretentious; after all, she had sneakily looked at Qi Xianqing's notes, and she believed that slowly working through it would yield results.
