Yan Jue knew that when Qi Xianqing called her to "come over," she surely had ill intentions.

But unfortunately, due to her body's cravings during this special time, she was once again pressed onto the bed and treated intimately by Qi Xianqing.

It wasn't until Yan Jue could no longer control herself, clutching Qi Xianqing's neck and softly begging for mercy, that Qi Xianqing finally relented.

Qi Xianqing sat up and began to carefully explain the origins of the two souls she had found.

One of the souls was dense and complete, with a faint aura of killing intent, which was unmistakably an evil spirit. It was a soul taken directly from a demon's shattered body.

The other soul was a faint purple mist, clearly just a fragment of a cultivator's soul.

When Qi Xianqing first discovered the two souls, they were tightly intertwined.

She set out to find the souls' original owners.

After some searching, Qi Xianqing found that the purple soul fragment had an owner—it belonged to someone from Wulong Mountain.

The owner was none other than Jiang Mengchu.

Time passed quickly. Qi Xianqing and Yan Jue quietly made preparations in the Ghost Palace, while work among the Immortal Sects was progressing smoothly.

Yan Jue planned to visit Wendu once again to meet the Empress.

She journeyed through the long roads, soon arriving at Wendu, and upon reaching the palace gate, she had someone deliver her message.

Li Xi was resting in the palace and was quite surprised to see Yan Jue. "The other day, the Immortal Lord mentioned the matter of the Grand Title. He has already received his punishment, but I wonder what brings Young Immortal Lord here today?"

Yan Jue smiled. "I have something I wish to show Your Majesty."

The Empress raised an eyebrow.

Yan Jue then took out a glass vial from her sleeve. Inside was a dreamy, pale purple mist that swirled and moved within the vial, as though it would spill out at any moment.

The Empress froze for a moment, then narrowed her eyes.

Yan Jue spoke again, "This is a fragment of the soul of Jiang Mengchu, my sister."

Li Xi replied indifferently, "Who is Jiang Mengchu, and what does she have to do with me?"

Yan Jue had expected this answer and stood up, cupping her hands in respect. "I made a bold guess because I noticed that Your Majesty bears a striking resemblance to my sister Jiang."

Yan Jue continued, "This is a fragment of her soul, but I also have another soul fragment here."

She then took out another vial, inside of which floated a dark, swirling mist.

This dark mist carried an intense and malevolent aura, violently shifting inside the bottle, as though it would explode at any moment.

This was demonic energy.

Placing the vials on the table, Yan Jue looked deeply at the Empress. "Your Majesty, these souls were stored in the Demon Suppressing Tower of Wulong Mountain. Now that the tower has changed hands, they have been brought to light once more."

Li Xi, ever astute, immediately understood that these souls were being offered as a bargaining chip.

The Empress sighed. "Mengchu is my child."
