The most vulnerable part of both demons and human cultivators alike is the dantian.

The dantian is where the Qi Sea resides, and if it's shattered, a demon's entire cultivation would be lost.

Even for a high-level demon, shattering the Qi Sea would mean starting from scratch.

The talisman, screeching like a dragon in flight, shot straight toward Yan Jue, about to shatter her Qi Sea into pieces.

The Demon Lord couldn't help but smile in satisfaction.

It was a flawless plan, one that would rid him of Yan Jue while also bringing Yun Zhen down.

Suddenly, a sharp blue-green sword light sliced through the air, severing the talisman in two.

The crowd erupted in shock.

The Demon Lord's face darkened as he turned to see where the sword light had come from.

A woman stood there, garbed in flowing white robes, her sleeves and hem fluttering in the fierce wind. Her eyes were as calm as misty clouds.

Suspended in the air, her cyan sword, Zhu Ying, crackled with energy, emanating a subtle but palpable danger.

"Qi Xianqing? Why is she here?"

As the disciples hesitated in confusion, Qi Xianqing raised her hand.

Thunder burst from Zhu Ying, a flash of blinding light streaking through the air like a dragon. The sword's arc struck out, breaking the chains on Yan Jue's wrists.

As Yan Jue fell, Qi Xianqing spun mid-air to catch her.

The Demon Lord had once told Qi Xianqing that if she was loyal to him, he would find her a favorable position in the sect.

For a disciple, reaching the rank of elder was challenging without support from above.

Qi Xianqing, already at the Sixth Realm, had the qualifications, and it was only natural she'd be tempted by his offer.

The Demon Lord was confident she couldn't resist.

He prided himself on his understanding of human nature. Hadn't even Elder You Long of the Jin'gang Sect succumbed to the lure of power and joined him?

Qi Xianqing hadn't outright refused, giving him reason to believe she had accepted his offer.

Pleased with his plan, he'd stationed Qi Xianqing at the heart of the demon-suppressing array that day.

But now he wasn't so sure. What was Qi Xianqing doing?

With a gentle smile, the Demon Lord looked at her. "Xianqing, by breaking the array and releasing a demon, do you intend to defy the laws of Wulong Sect as its head disciple?"

His words weighed heavy, and Qi Xianqing lowered her gaze, silent.

Then a murmur rose from the crowd as everyone noticed Yan Jue standing at the base of the steps leading to the stage.

The Demon Suppression Tower still hovered above her, its golden light pressing heavily down on her shoulders.

With labored steps, she staggered forward, nearly stumbling.

Some disciples tried to approach, but Qi Xianqing raised Zhu Ying, filling the air with fierce lightning that kept everyone at bay.

"We have something to say," Qi Xianqing declared.

"We?" This word caused an odd ripple among the disciples, who stared at them intently.

Finally reaching the high platform, Yan Jue drew her sword, Liu Bing. In the hall's cold, the sword glowed with a frosty radiance, filling the entire hall with an icy chill.
