I'm sorry

*Katniss Pov* 

"I sit on my sofa in my living room  while Peeta walks in the room screaming in my face. You killed my mother. I start crying and he slaps me hard on the face and I feel all the blood rushing into my cheeks. 

He screams once again. You mutt how dare you, you do nothing but cause trouble in this world. YOU SHOULD BE DEAD. he screams even louder."

I wake up and let out a blood curdling scream that echoes through the house. I cry so hard that I cannot breathe anymore and am gasping for air. 

Tears soak my pillow and hair as they rush down my face. Haymitch comes rushing in calming me down. 

Then I see Peeta walks in the room which causes me to cry even louder and heavier. He has dark circles under his eyes, and looks like he hasn't slept at all.

He walks over to my bed and I cry even harder, and mumble why are you here. 

Effie called me he says, and I heard you screaming. 

Lets go home Kat, he says with a calming voice. 

No, I say while crying I don't want to. He doesn't listen and he scoops me up anyways as if I am weightless, and walks me back to our home. 

He sits on the bed with me still in his lap and I cry and cry until I run out of tears. It has been an hour since Peeta brought me home and we have not said a word to eachother, all I can do is cry. 

I ask him while it is silent

"D- do you really believe I killed your mother." I ask in a strained voice. 

No Kat, I feel horrible about what I have said and I regret everything and the guilt has been eating me alive knowing I made you cry. I am so sorry darling. 

You shouldn't be the one apologizing. I say. 

What you said wasn't wrong... I did kill your mother, and the rest of your family. 

Katniss no you didn't Snow did none of that is your fault and I never want you to blame yourself. I love you and want you to know that is not true. 

I am sorry I said I didn't know why we were engaged and why we live together. 

It's alright Kat. 

I cry some more into his chest and he brushes the hair behind my ear calming me down. 

Shh shh its alright darling. He says soothingly. 

Why don't we go to sleep darling. 

NO! I scream afraid of what I saw in my sleep before. 

I can't have another nightmare Peeta I just can't. Darling you have to sleep he says. Please no Peeta I say remembering what happened in my last nightmare. 

If you have another nightmare I will be right here I won't leave you I promise darling. 

Okay. I say. 

I will try to sleep. I lay on his chest letting small tears slip out of my eyes onto his bare chest, and close my eyes.

_

*Peeta's Pov* 

I feel horrible, I really do. I can't believe I would say such a thing, and when I was saying that I knew it would affect her deeply because she is still very fragile and little things will set off her nightmares right away. 

What I said was also not little and this will likely affect her for a while.

I feel awful and still am unable to sleep. I stare into space while she lays on my chest with a tear stained face. 

I could hear her scream all way from my house and it echoed through my home. Hearing that absolutely broke me. 

I know that her nightmare was horrible, and it was likely about me telling her horrible things. I let a small tear slide down my face knowing that I hurt my amazing fiance. I don't know why she would even want to marry me after this. 

She starts shaking violently causing the whole bed to shake and she starts letting out small whimpers, and then starts to scream. I wake her up knowing she is having another nightmare.

When her eyes open they are wide open and are very alert and she starts backing away from me. 

"Katniss its all right it wasn't real I am not going to hurt you" 

She comes back to me and sits up and starts crying into her knees, and I scoop her up into my lap running my hands through my hair whispering soothing things in her ears. 

We both say nothing and she begins to fall asleep again on my chest, and I rub her arm to calm her down and she eventually falls asleep. 

I eventually feel my eyes getting heavier every second and start to close my eyes.
