(Mia's pov)

My heart broke in my chest as I held my weeping girlfriend close.
"It's okay, princess. She's gone now, we're safe." I soothed her gently.
Softly, her head nestled into my neck while I planted soft kisses onto the top of her head.
"I love you so much, my angel." I muttered into her ear to which she whispered a response in between cries,
"I love you even more, sweetheart."
"I doubt it. I just murdered someone for you." I gave a breathy laugh, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, but I would've done the same for you." She smiled as her pouring tears began to dry.

Her body automatically linked into mine like we were two pieces of a puzzle. We snuggled into each other before she whispered and her voice broke,
"I can't believe she is really gone. My mother is dead."
"Don't worry, princess." I tightened my grip around her waist.

All of a sudden, I felt her body go heavy on top of mine and her breathing had evened out. I slowly gazed down at her to see that she had fallen into a deep slumber on top of me. I smiled at my sleeping beauty before closing my eyes aswell and drifting off into a land of dreams.

Rays of sunlight beamed through the forest and reflected off of our resting bodys. Char began to stir awake and stretch out her muscles. My eyes fluttered open and immediately shot over to take a close look at my girl.
"Good morning, baby!" I exclaimed, cheerfully, completely forgetting about the deceased woman laying across from me.
"Morning." Char muttered as she rubbed her eyes, collecting any sleepy dust.
Her lips immediately formed a grin as she locked eye contact with me. I felt her arms around me loosen their grip as she leaned in and passionately kissed me on the lips.

After a few minutes, we pulled apart and as she looked over at her dead mother, a traumatised expression overcame her face.
"I'll be right back." I firmly spoke before strolling over to the woman who lay forever unconscious. I kicked the body to move it towards a river. Making sure I was aware of my surroundings, I peered around me. After realising there was no one there, a kick and a curse bestowed the dead lady simultaneously as she perished into the deep waters. "Goodbye." I replied before twisting my body and walking back to where Charlotte was.

As I looked over, I saw her waiting patiently for me, a beam plastered on her face as she finally watches me arrive.

"Princess, we have to keep this whole situation a secret." I spoke, begging for this to be dealt with privately.
"I know." She smiled at me, her eyes squinting a tiny bit off of her massive grin.
"Do you promise not to tell anyone?" I asked, eager to know the truth.
"I promise." She replied, caringly.

In a perfect synchronised pattern, we both spoke at the exact same time,

"I will forever keep our pretty little promises."
