"You are the light to my dark, Sunshine. Without you, I'm lost." - Book"To everyone who's favourite colour is morally grey." - Quote
"I love you and that's all I really know." - Song
"Aria! Hey girl!" I scream.
"Hey bestie!" She yells back.
As if we hadn't had the biggest fight yesterday where she called me a 'fucking bitch', 'a fat whore' and 'a stupid slut'.
I wasn't sitting with her in lunch anymore.
Time passes by in Maths Challenge, as I open my phone.
"Guess what?!" I squeal and then showing my phone to Laina, Yasmine and Aria.
"Oh my gosh!" Laina gasps, her face shock shuck.
"Yay!" Aria screams, tackling me.
However, disaster struck as Mr. Reid was coming towards me and I hide my phone behind my iPad making the Geronimo lyrics pop up, accidentally.
Mr. Reid stares at my screen, asking. "What's that?"
"It's the song lyrics for my bands' song."
"Really? Who's in it?" He questions.
"Me, Leah, Mia, Jennie, Pedro, Asher and Malik." I answer.
He smirks, "Which instrument does everyone play?"
"I sing, Leah plays base guitar, Mia plays the piano and Jennie the guitar. Pedro and Asher both play ukulele while Malik plays the drums." I say.
I quickly add. "Leah sings the chorus with me though."
"Oh, can you sing it for us?"
"What?! No!" I rapidly deny, a blush coating my cheeks. That's weird.
"Which song is it?"
"So say Geronimo!" Yasmine sings.
To which Laina yells. "Say Geronimo!"
Aria laughs, screaming Geronimo with them.
"Say Geronimo. *clap* Say Geronimo! Say Geronimo. *clap* Say Geronimo! Say Geronimo!!" They three yell in symphony.
"Shut. Up!" I shout at them.
"Come on, sing for us, Siyana." He pushes.
"I'll sing in class if the whole band sings along with me, deal?"
"Deal, Siyana. I'll do this tomorrow. In class." He utters, making me regret my decision as quickly as I'd made it.
But it was way too late.
Aria grins at me, "I need a video recording of that."
"He'll forget. I hope." I pray, that he'll forget. But will he?

"Okay, class before we start with the do now, is there a band in this class?" Mr. Reid asks, a sly smirk coating his lips.
"Yes?" Asher answers.
"So, Siyana's in it right?"
Malik sends a confused glare my way. "Yeah. And Malik too." Damien adds. That motherfucker.
"Asher, Pedro, Jennie too." Tyke mumbles.
Mia and Leah are so lucky they get to miss this. They're absent today, lucky little fuckers.
I'm sitting with Ava due to Leah being absent, and Evelyn was sitting with Aya since they needed more help and it's easier this way.
"They should sing. Right? Especially, Siyana?" Mr. Reid taunts, a denying smile filling my face.
"What?! No- I'm not going to sing." I state.
"You have to, come on!" He prompts.
"Why me?"
"Because you're the lead singer?" Asher chirps.
"Shut up, Asher."
"That's not very kind is it, now?" Damien enters.
"I'll sing if my entire band comes along with me. Fine?"
"Fine, is the whole band coming?" My teacher questions.
I know my band well enough, they were not going to all come up just for-
A voice slices through the piercing, silence. "Yes for me, Asher and Pedro."
"But I don't wanna!" I squeal.
"Siyana, if you won't be able to sing here, then you won't be able sing in music or Repton Rocks." Evelyn mutters, loud enough for Aya to hear.
"Yeah, Siyana?" Aya teases.
"Last ten minutes." He bargains.
"Whatever." I retort.
The class went by with me and Ava shit talking, making fun of Aya until it was time for the dreaded part of the lesson.
"Please, come along with me. Ava, please." I request, to a not budging Ava.
"I don't know the lyrics except for 'Say Geronimo!'"
"Just stand with me, please!"
"But it's gonna be really awkward." She continues.
"Then what is it for me? Fun?" I argue.
She reason with me. "But you're gonna be singing and I'm just gonna have to stand there."
"Please, Ava. I'll owe you forever."
"I don't think he remembers." She suggests.
As if he had heard us a mile away, Tyke starts. "Sir, the band's performance." Continuing with a smirk shot at me, he ruffled Malik's hair.
"Yes, come on. Siyana and band." Mr. Reid excitedly announces, making me push Ava, Jennie towards the centre of the class.
I burst into tears of laughter alongside a blush coating my cheeks. Pedro and Asher were holding their water bottles pretending as if they were ukuleles. Malik was ready with his drums on GarageBand. Jennie and Ava stood awkwardly as I waited for the intro to finish.
However, I didn't get to start due to fucking Tyke. "Tyke! Stop recording!" I yelp.
"No devices Tykey, it's illegal." Malik babies Tyke, in a disgusting way.
Damien smirks at Malik, why the fuck. Maybe, because me and Malik were the only ones doing something?
Despite the suspicious activities, ahem ahem Damien, I continued. Landing all the high notes perfectly making Habeel stare. Just in wonder.
By the way, Malik got the drums perfectly too. Not that I care. Duh?
I hated it, but if it meant standing with Malik for one more day, another minute, another second? I'd do it. No questions asked.
But I did accidentally eavesdrop on Damien and Malik's conversation.
"I got the entire thing on recording. Hazza needs to hear how good you and Si- your habibti sound on recording when she's singing and you're playing the drums. It sounds like a match made in heaven."
"A match? At most, a match made in hell. Damien." I intervene.
"How did you record it?" Malik speaks.
"On my watch."
"If you show that to Hazza and I find out, your watch breaks. If that idiot Almansoori teases me about it, a broken nose is gonna be added to the things that he knows, that I've broken. A bottle, half of a tooth, his reputation for never being scared and always being the troublemaker, his pride and now a nose. I forgot the cracked cranium. Looks like I really know my anatomy and am worthy of being Siyana's academic rival." Malik answers in a snarky tone making Damien's jaw gape while I just looked at the fury in his eyes, gawking at him.
Why the fuck does seeing Malik angry fill that fire so much?
He doesn't like me. He hadn't looked at me in the performance. Except, for to notice if my singing was flawed or if I wasn't starting on beat. Only to see my mistakes.
Yet. That one, harmless stare still made me blush
