Madden:

I'm not a nonchalant smoker. I don't do it all the time or even on a weekly basis. But certain things can knock me so off balance that I'm forced to take measures to ensure I don't end up fucking murdering people.

Certain things, being my parents.

I wasn't planning to attend last night's school event. It was bullshit and a waste of my time. But my parents had gotten to me before time did and what do you fucking know? I had to go. Whether I liked it or not. I could not disparage the family name, no matter how small of a function it was.

I was already pissed off that I had to be there but after several conversations with men and women that had me wanting to bang my head against a fucking wall plus having to go through them with that little brat by my side... I was done.

Leaving to disassociate in a desolate area away from the affair was the best idea she had and I was actually secretly grateful for it.

Doesn't make me hate her any less though.

But I was there nonetheless, and without my usual way to blow off steam, racing at the tracks, lighting one was my second option.

Well, that or verbally sparring with her but I didn't really have the energy for that.

Three hours of my life, gone.

I made sure to glare at Percy when we passed in the halls today, completely ignoring his call of wanting to have a short talk with me.

If he sends me an email I swear to god-

"-we don't have to tell him."

I pause.

The fuck?

I walk further down the hall towards Rosie's bedroom.

"No." She says. "But he'd find out."

"No he won't."

I push her door open. "Yes he will."

My sister startles, dropping the pen that was in her hand and holding said hand to her chest, whirling around to me.

"What the hell, Madden!"

"You." I point to my so called friend on her phone screen. "What are you trying to pull her into this time?"

"Nothing." Angel holds up his hands as he sits back in a chair. "Nothing at all. I don't know what you're talking about."

"She is banned from hanging out with you all. Especially you."

"Is this about the incident? Dude, that was ages ago. It's not healthy to dwell on the past."

"She is not getting involved in your maniac activities."

"Oh, come on. She needs entertainment. She doesn't seem to be getting much of that right now. I'm the fun brother. I'm only here to help."

"I'm fun." I frown, affronted.

"Sure you are." He nods. "Just not when it comes to sweet, little, baby sister Rosie."

"You guys were nearly arrested." I glare.

"And we're back to this." Angel sighs. "We're just going in circles here, brother. Besides, I wasn't trying to coerce her into anything."

"Then what did you not have to tell me?"

They shoot a quick look at each other through the screen.

"Just that I was having second thoughts about the whole hanging out with the guys' girlfriends thing."
