Madden:Fuck.
Off.
"Mira!" My mother is the first to greet the woman sat at the table.
She stands, going to do the same. "Lalana." Then looks to my father. "Dion. It's wonderful to see you both. And these are your children?"
"Lana, please. And yes. These are my children, Madden, Rosalie and Evander."
My siblings both politely say hello but I'm too busy to pay proper attention, staring shocked at the other girl at the round table, who is staring back, equally as horrified.
"Madden." My father grunts lowly and I snap out of it, turning to the woman I've already met once, while she was drunk off her ass.
She seems far more put together now. Dark hair just like her daughter's, long and straight, although she wears it in a style with half of it up. Her dress is a nude colour and sweeps the floor and is paired with jewellery similar to my mother's but instead of gold she wears diamonds.
She clearly passed on most of the genes.
"Sorry. It's lovely to meet you."
"That's alright. My daughter usually gets that reaction. She is a beauty, isn't she?"
Yeah, that's not why I was looking. Is what I want to say. But obviously I can't do that so...
"She is. And her name is?" My mom interjects. Thankfully.
"Oh, yeogilo oseyo." (Come over here)
Her daughter stands and walks over, making a deliberate attempt at not looking in my direction.
She's wearing her hair down and in waves tonight, with diamonds adorning her pale skin in every form of jewellery and a black sleeveless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a crystal bow where it dips.
"This is my daughter, Alora."
"Pleasure to meet you, Alora." Mæ̀ beams. "Such a beautiful name."
"Thank you." She smiles.
"I take it your grandparents will be joining us soon as well?" Father asks.
Real fucking subtle, Dad.
"Yes. My maternal Grandfather Minho and my Grandmother Yeri. They're already here, actually."
"They're working the room. I'll take you to them." Mira suggests. "Leave the kids to get to know one another."
"An excellent idea."
"Behave yourself, children." My mother tells us and I see Mira have a small exchange with Alora before she faces my parents once again and they leave.
"Alora." Rosie grins. "I didn't know you'd be here tonight."
"Yeah, I-"
"You two know each other?" My surprise is increased tenfold.
What the fuck is going on?
"We met at her party." My sister says. "Remember, the girl I told you about who saved me from that guy outside of the bathroom?"
"That was her?"
"Yes... Why did you say her name like tha-?"
"Come." The little witch links her arm with Rosie's and turns their backs to me, leading them to where she was sat.
I narrow my eyes but decide to wait this out for a bit, tapping Evan on the back. "Sit down, buddy." Keeping my gaze trained on them, I do the same.
