Madden:"Do you think they're fucking?"
"I don't know. Everyone knows he doesn't mess around with the same girl twice."
"She's not even a senior."
"She thinks she's better than everyone. Everyone knows that."
"He's way out of her league."
"Their families are probably working together for her family's sake."
"But aren't they richer than his?"
"Barely."
"She literally wants to be me. It's so obvious."
"Like she could ever."
"And trying to get with Madden? Talk about desperate."
"She's just trying to climb the social ladder already."
"I mean, everyone already knew her prior to this whole thing-"
"Oh my god, Julia, stop defending her!"
"I'm just saying!"
"Having fun?"
Theo's voice drags me out of the unavoidable overhearing of Brielle and her friends I'm being forced to listen to while I sort shit out in my locker.
A part of me wonders if she's heard all of the rumours that have spread about her. Wonders if her fragile ego can take it. Wonders if she even cares at all.
"She doesn't." He says and I snap my head up. Did I say that out loud?
"What?"
"She doesn't care about what people are saying." He specifies.
"How the fuck would you know?" I raise my brows.
"She told me." He shrugs.
"You spoke to her?" Curiosity turns to surprise.
"Yep."
"When?"
"Yesterday.""Why?"
"We ran into each other in the library. She was kinda mean." He remarks but his smile tells me he didn't dislike that fact at all.
"Keep yourself and your fucking kinks away from her." I shut my locker and we start walking towards the dining hall. "She's poison."
"I don't mind the taste of danger."
Where the fuck is this coming from?
"She isn't dangerous." I tell him, my jaw hardening. "She's a liability."
"And what makes her liable?"
"Everything."
"Hm." He hums and looks forward. "Well, I guess I'll have to take your word for it."
"Madden!" A feminine voice rings out and pierces my ears. Not three seconds later, being followed by its tall, blonde owner, who steps in front of me halting me in my tracks, with her friends at her back. "Are you headed to lunch? I'm starved. Shall we go together?"
How about fuck no?
Don't get me wrong, Brie is hot and can deliver some good fucking head, but she's far too clingy and a plethora of other things that knock my appeal straight down the drain.
"Not today." I tell her and resist the urge to take an irritated step back when she sets her hands on my shoulders.
"Come on, it'll be nice. We haven't spent much time together recently."
