"Liyah, I said I was sorry. I didn't think it would go that far."
She was still fussing at me after her blow up with Tiffany. The hormones from her pregnancy made her more irritable and she fussed more instead of staying quiet. A part of me was glad she wasn't holding things in but another part of me worried that she was one more blow up away from going into labor early.
"I know you thought you were doing something good but going forward I never want to talk to that narcissistic bitch again in my life."
"Okay, Aaliyah. That shit happened hours ago, I get it. Come lay down."
I laid in the bed while she was still pacing back and forth, waddling and rubbing her stomach.
"I'm coming," she huffed. "Peanut is upset and won't stop kicking me."
"Because you making him mad. Let Daddy fix it," I said, patting her side of the bed.
"It's a girl, P," she laughed, laying down and placing my hand on her stomach.
"We can always call Chelle and find out. You're the only one that doesn't want to know."
"I've been thinking about it. I just want to be surprised."
"You might want to find out. We haven't even started talking about names."
"I know. We still have time," she said quietly, looking down as the baby kicked again.
"Shit, I hope so. You get mad one more time I'm getting the go bag."
She laughed, playfully hitting me on the arm as her phone started ringing on the nightstand.
"She gone live a long time," she said, swiping to accept Chelle's call and putting her on speaker. "Yes ma'am?"
"Hey, what are you doing right now?" she asked, something off in her tone.
"In the bed trying to calm Peanut down. What's up?" Liyah replied, sounding concerned.
"Hold up, what's wrong with the baby?"
"Tiffany came over to talk earlier and it didn't go well so I think me being upset made the baby upset."
"Okay so that explains it."
"Explains what?"
"Jas just sent me something her weird ass posted on Instagram. Hold on, I'm about to send it to you."
Liyah opened her messages, clicking the link Chelle just sent.

"There's no fucking way," Liyah laughed angrily, showing me the post.
I let out a deep sigh and shook my head, already knowing tonight was about to take a turn for the worse.
"I never liked her ass. I can't believe you stayed friends with her as long as you did."
"She was a good friend until she wasn't."
"Because she knew she could never have you."
"What are you talking about?" Liyah laughed.
"That girl was in love with you and it was so obvious."
"She was not in love with me, Chelle. Just because she likes women doesn't mean that included me."
I zoned out of the conversation, thinking about what Chelle said. I went through my memories, thinking back to all the times I was around them. How she was always so close to Liyah, always coming to her rescue whenever we were into it, always making me feel like I didn't know Liyah as well as she did. It all started to make sense to me. Now I wondered how she didn't pick up on it after all this time.
"You don't have to believe me but I'm telling you that's what it is," Chelle laughed. "Aw, Metro's calling. I'll check on you and the baby tomorrow."
"Okay, I love you. Tell him he still owes me for losing at Uno!"
"Girl bye. Love you too," she laughed, hanging up the phone.
Liyah set the phone back on the nightstand, placing her hands back on her stomach.
"Chelle and this theory have definitely made my night," she laughed softly.
"I don't think it's a theory, baby. She might be right," I chuckled, putting my hand on her stomach. "I can't believe neither of us picked up on it but especially you."
"Because it's not true. If she was in love with me, how come she never made a move on me?"
"Liyah, I would come home from the studio and find y'all in the guest room laid up," I laughed.
"That's just our best friend ... cuddle," she trailed off, starting to slowly put the pieces together.
"And who came up with that idea?"
"She did. That still doesn't mean anything. Why encourage me to stay with you?"
"To see you happy, advance her career by being affiliated with us, it could be anything. But I can tell you now, this probably won't be the last post she makes like that. Hurt people hurt people."
"She's only making it worse for herself. If I just sat here and told you that I no longer wanted to be your friend, what do you think this is going to do?"
"She wants you to either react or reach out to her. Anything she can to get you to talk to her to see how much you care."
"Why does it sound like you're speaking from experience?" she asked, raising her eyebrow at me.
"Because I am. Did you really think we ran into each other that night at Blue Flame by accident?" I smiled.
"I fucking knew it," she laughed. "I should've called the police on you."
"I didn't ask you to follow me to the parking lot. You knew you wanted this just as bad as I did. I just had to put the pieces together for you."
"You hear that, Peanut?" she asked, looking down at her stomach. "Daddy's crazy."
"Stop calling my son that," I laughed reaching to turn out the light before laying down, pulling Liyah closer to me and placing my hand on her stomach.
"You're gonna be so mad when it's a girl."
"Hell yeah, between the both of y'all I'll be broke before I turn 35."
"Shut up," she giggled, placing her hand on top of mine. "I did decide on a boy name just in case."
"I'm glad you're coming around to it," I laughed softly. "Which one did you like the most?"
"Literally none of the names you suggested, but it still fits your space theme or whatever you wanna call it."
"Hm, what is it?"
"Orion. It's a constellation and it goes well with Cash."
"It's not bad. He still gone be Baby Pluto anyway."
Her phone started ringing again before she could respond. She picked it up off of the nightstand, seeing that it was Gigi calling.
"Why she up this late?" I asked, looking at the time.
"Gigi?" she answered. "What are you doing up?"
"Baby, you gotta come home as soon as you can," she said through tears.
"What's wrong? What's going on?" Liyah asked, leaning up in the bed.
