It's been weeks since we got back from Paris and Liyah went straight into wedding planning the day we touched down in Atlanta. We haven't even set a date yet and she's been asking me about colors and guests and bunch of shit I wasn't even thinking about when I proposed. Phones been blowing up asking for photoshoots and interviews and I just wanna be able to enjoy this moment in peace with her. Whenever she's not working, she taking every available moment to plan and I love seeing how excited she is about it but it's beginning to get a little overwhelming.
"Honey, I'm hoooome," Liyah sang from the living room.
I've been spending a lot more time in the studio, trying to take a break from color schemes and wedding catalogues covering every room in the house. I made my way to the living room to greet her, hearing her voice coming from the kitchen.
"This color would go better but I think Pluto wants to wear white," I heard her saying before I walked into the room, a big smile coming across her face. "Hey, fiancé."
"Hey, baby," I walked over, giving her a kiss before hugging Tiffany. "Wedding stuff again?"
"She's driving me crazy," Tiff whispered to me.
"I heard that," Liyah said, flipping through pages of yet another catalogue.
"Baby, don't you think you should take a break? It's been nothing but wedding since we got home. We haven't even set a date yet."
"I already picked one. September 14," she said without looking up.
"Liyah, that's in 6 months."
"I know," she said finally looking up. "That's why I'm starting on everything now."
I reached across the counter, grabbing the book from her as her face turned angry.
"That's my cue," Tiff said grabbing her purse and heading out of the kitchen towards the front door. "Call me if you need me!"
We heard the door close as we sat in silence. I walked over, sitting down in the chair next to her and grabbed her hand.
"I'm not going anywhere and I'm not changing my mind. You don't have to rush this."
"I'm not rushing anything. I've been looking for a dress, I picked out colors, and-"
"Liyah, stop," I interrupted her. "I'm glad that you're excited about this but take a break. We have time."
"I don't want to take time. I want to get married."
"And we will. Let's just enjoy the moment and we'll set a date for next year."
