Alexander's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities.
"Emily's hiding something," he thought. "And I'm going to find out."
Unlike Sophia, who worried but often let Emily's secrecy slide, Alexander wouldn't brush it off.
As a mafia king, Alexander's instincts were honed to detect deception.
He knew Emily's evasive behavior signaled more than just teenage drama.
Alexander decided to investigate discreetly.
"Time to pay Max a visit," he thought.
Alexander arrived at Max's house, his presence commanding attention.
Max's eyes widened as Alexander entered.
"Uncle, what brings you here?"
"Emily," Alexander replied, his tone firm but controlled.
Max's expression turned guarded.
"What about Emily?"
Alexander's gaze bored into Max's.
"I know you're involved with my niece. Tell me everything."
Max hesitated, weighing his options.
Max took a deep breath. "We've been studying together, and...we grew closer. We care about each other."
Alexander's expression remained unreadable.
"And?" he prompted.
Max hesitated. "That's it. We haven't done anything wrong, uncle. I promise."
Alexander's silence stretched, weighing Max's words.
Finally, he spoke. "I'll be watching you, Max. Harm Emily, and you'll answer to me."
Max nodded, understanding.
"I'd never hurt Emily. She means everything to me."
Alexander's gaze lingered, assessing Max's sincerity.
"Good. Keep it that way."
With that, Alexander left, leaving Max wondering what lay ahead.
Max's mind reeled as Alexander left.
"What just happened?" Max wondered.
Alexander's intensity had unsettled him.
"Speaking like he's gonna kill me," Max thought, shaking his head.
He couldn't fathom Alexander's true nature.
To Max, Alexander was just Emily's uncle.
But the air of authority and menace surrounding him was unnerving.
"Who is this guy?" Max asked himself.
Max's phone buzzed, snapping him back to reality.
"Hey, Em," Max texted. "Your uncle just left my place."
Emily replied, "What did he say?"
Max hesitated, unsure how much to reveal.
"Not much. Just warned me to take care of you."
Emily's response came quickly.
"Sorry, Max. He can be overprotective."
Max's anxiety lingered.
"Overprotective?" he thought. "That's not the word."
Alexander found Emily in the garden, lost in thought.
"Emily, we need to talk," Alexander said, his tone firm.
Emily looked up, sensing seriousness.
"About Max?" Emily asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alexander nodded. "Yes. I spoke with him."
Emily's eyes widened. "What did he say?"
Alexander's expression softened. "He cares about you, Emily. But I must know: what's going on between you two?"
Emily hesitated, weighing her options.
Should she reveal the truth or maintain the facade?
"Uncle Alexander, I..." Emily began.
Alexander's gaze encouraged her. "Tell me, Emily."
Emily took a deep breath.
"We're...dating, Uncle Alexander. We kept it a secret because we were scared of how you and Mom would react."
Alexander's expression remained calm.
"I see," he said. "And how serious is this relationship?"
Emily's voice trembled.
"I love him, Uncle Alexander. And he loves me."
Alexander's eyes locked onto Emily's.
"I want to protect you, Emily. But I also want you to be happy. Can Max make you happy?"
Emily nodded, tears welling up.
"Yes, bro. He does."
Alexander's gaze intensified, his voice low and serious.
"Emily, listen carefully. I want you to be happy, but I also want you to be safe. You're young, and Max may seem perfect now, but life is complicated."
Emily nodded, sensing the weight of Alexander's words.
"I know, Uncle Alexander. I'll be careful."
Alexander's expression turned stern.
"Careful isn't enough, Emily. You need to be smart. Don't let your emotions cloud your judgment. Max may have good intentions, but the world isn't always kind."
Emily felt a shiver run down her spine.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
Alexander's voice dropped to a whisper.
"I mean that people can hurt you, Emily. They can deceive and betray. Don't give your heart blindly. Make sure Max is worthy of your love."
Emily's eyes widened, understanding Alexander's concerns.
"I'll be cautious, Uncle Alexander. I promise."
Alexander's gaze lingered, ensuring Emily grasped the gravity.
"Remember, Emily: one mistake can lead to regret. Don't do anything that'll make you regret tomorrow."
Emily nodded, Alexander's words etched in her mind.
