As the darkness closed in, Victoria's world teetered on the brink of collapse. Ethan's twisted game of revenge had reached its boiling point, his eyes blazing with an unholy fury. But just as all hope seemed lost, a sudden, shrill ring pierced the air, shattering the tension. Ethan's phone, that innocuous device, now became the catalyst for a dramatic turn of events. Alexander's mocking tone echoed through the speaker, taunting Ethan's ego, pushing him to the edge. "Hey, brother, just wondering if you lasted more than 5 minutes. Or did Victoria still find you lacking?" The words dripped with venom, striking Ethan's very core.

Ethan's face contorted, his rage unleashed like a tempest. The room trembled with his thunderous roar, "YOU THINK YOU CAN MOCK ME?" The phone, now a fragile, shattered thing, lay broken, a testament to Ethan's unbridled fury. And then, in a flash, he was gone, storming out into the night, leaving Victoria gasping for air. The door slammed shut, echoing through the silence like a death knell.

Victoria's body shook, her tears streaming down her face as she whispered a single, heartfelt word: "Thank you, Alexander." In that moment, she knew she had to escape, to flee from Ethan's toxic grasp.

Victoria's trembling fingers dialed Alexander's number, her heart racing with desperation. The phone rang once, twice, before going to voicemail. She tried again, her anxiety spiking.

On the second try, Alexander answered, his voice cold as ice.

"Victoria."

"Alexander, please listen..." Victoria begged, her voice shaking.

"Don't waste my time, Victoria," Alexander cut in, his tone unforgiving. "You tried to seduce me, and now you're calling me? You're either very brave or very stupid."

"Alexander, please..." Victoria's tears streamed down her face.

"What do you want, sister in law?" Alexander's voice remained icy.

"Ethan's lost control," Victoria whispered urgently. "He's going to hurt me. I need your help."

Alexander's silence was deafening.

"Not my problem, sister in law," he finally said, his voice devoid of empathy. "You made your bed, now lie in it. Face the consequences of your actions."

Victoria's heart sank, her hopes shattered.

"Alexander, please...I'm scared," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

"Save it, Victoria," Alexander spat. "You're not innocent. You're a seductress, a manipulator. Don't play victim now."

Victoria's tears fell harder, her world crumbling.

"Alexander, I swear...Ethan's different. He's cruel. Please..."

Alexander's cold tone cut her off.

"Goodbye, Victoria.  For God sake Don't call me again, but you can call me when you want yourself in hell."

The line went dead.

Victoria's phone slipped from her trembling fingers, her heart heavy with despair.

Victoria's eyes emptied, her soul crushed. She had no one. Ethan, her husband, had descended into madness, his rage and cruelty suffocating her. Alexander, her brother-in-law, the only other person she could turn to, had rejected her.

Panic set in as Victoria realized she was truly alone. Her family, torn from her by Ethan's brutality, was gone. Her little boy, innocent and pure, couldn't comprehend the horrors she faced.
