Emma's hands trembled as she clutched the notebook and pen, her eyes fixed on Alexander's profile as he drove the car. "Whom will be the first person?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
Alexander's eyes flicked towards her, a hint of amusement dancing in their depths. "Make it Rachael," he said, his voice low and smooth. "Only I am not as interested in it as she is."
Emma's eyes widened in surprise. "You're not interested in the personality test?" she asked, her pen poised over the notebook.
Alexander chuckled. "Let's just say that I'm more interested in the results than the process," he said. "But Rachael, on the other hand, is fascinated by human psychology. She was a journalist too, you know."
Emma's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Really?" she asked, her pen scratching across the paper as she took notes. "What kind of journalist was she?"
Emma nodded, her pen still scribbling across the paper. "I'll ask her," she said. "So, Rachael was a reporter in a news channel?"
Alexander nodded, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. "Yes, that's right," he said. "She was very good at her job too."
Emma's curiosity was piqued. She couldn't wait to meet Rachael and learn more about her. As they pulled up to a large, imposing mansion, Emma felt a shiver run down her spine. This was it. This was where she would meet Rachael and begin her assignment.
As they pulled up to the mansion, Emma's trembling grew more pronounced. She was cold, despite the warmth of the car, and her fear was threatening to overwhelm her. Alexander seemed to sense her distress, and he turned to her with a hint of curiosity in his eyes.
"Are you alright, Emma?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
Emma tried to nod, but her head was shaking too hard. She felt like she was going to collapse at any moment. Alexander's eyes narrowed, and he reached out to grab her arm.
"Perhaps we should get you inside," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "You're freezing."
Emma didn't resist as Alexander pulled her out of the car and led her towards the mansion. She stumbled along beside him, her eyes fixed on the ground. She was terrified of what lay ahead, but she knew she had no choice. She was at Alexander's mercy, and she had to do what he said if she wanted to survive.
Rachael exclaimed, rushing over to Emma and enveloping her in a warm hug. "Hellooooo! I'm so glad you're here!" Emma returned the hug, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "Hi," she said, smiling weakly.
Alexander stood up, his eyes fixed on Rachael. "Perhaps I have no work here, so I am going," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. But Rachael was having none of it. "You are not going anywhere, Alexander," she said, her voice firm but playful. "Sit here silently and let her do her work."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, but he sat back down, his eyes fixed on Emma with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. Emma felt a shiver run down her spine as she met his gaze, but she quickly looked away, focusing on Rachael instead.
Rachael smiled warmly at Emma, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "What do you want to ask? Ask, I am ready to answer anything," she said. Emma's eyes flicked to Alexander, who was watching her with an amused expression. She turned back to Rachael, her pen poised over her notebook. "How did you meet him?" she asked, nodding towards Alexander.
But before Rachael could answer, Alexander spoke up. "We are doing a personality test, aren't we?" he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Rachael turned to him, a playful glint in her eye. "You keep quiet, baby," she said, and leaned over to kiss him on the forehead. Alexander's face turned bright red as he blushed, and he looked like a scolded child.
