Jailanee's Perspective
_

I was startled out of my slumber due to my alarm blaring. I groaned, grabbing the phone then looked at it before hitting the 'snooze' button. Another 10 minutes won't hurt.

A few minutes later my alarm went off once more signaling her to wake up again. I checked my phone noticing I received a few messages the last one reading five minutes ago.

mya <3: good morning make sure you get up on time jai jai
mya <3: im guessing you went back to sleep 🙄
mya<3: imma beat you up

I chuckled a little while reading over her messages. I put my phone down, deciding to just text Mya back once I was finished getting ready because I'm kind of running late now due to the snoozing of my alarm.

I quickly rushed to take a semi-quick shower and did my morning routine. I had took some clothes out prior because I knew I would try to sleep in again. Dragging on what was laid out I grabbed something out the kitchen to snack on for breakfast.

Luckily I made it just in time for the meeting I scheduled. Once I walked into the conference room there sat all the managers I hired for a certain section in the company. Since a previous manager was fired I have not had the time to call a meeting regarding the expectations. Also, I have not found a person to hire for that position.

"Good morning everyone. I know you guys are aware of Fred's absence and what has been transpiring. First, I want to start by appreciating you guys seriously, y'all have put hard-work into keeping this business running. Once this meeting is over y'all can treat yourself to what I left in the lobby.

With that being said, there may be a little more work load put onto you guys because the lack of management in that department. I don't want you to become alarmed because the spot will be filled soon, but in the meantime I need some support for you guys."  I analyzed the room trying to read everyone's body language. Since I did not receive any negative energy, I decided to continue.

"First, I'm going to start with the expectations within this company. If you have any questions or comments write them down and we can address them at the end." I stated, looking around the group and observing once again.

I proceeded with the lecture, letting them know the do's and the don'ts. Taking a few minutes to go into details, I express the fact that everyone needs to be capable of doing their job. Which was the main reason Fred got fired, but I did not include that.

I added a few more rules being that there would be a lack of management in a certain section, meaning there would be bigger roles to fill. With this space being left 'empty' I wanted to make sure the business was still running stably.

"Any questions or comments?" I briefly concluded.

Imoni, my head financial planner — she has a portion of clients she works with to ensure they are managing their money properly, made it clear she had a comment.

"Yes Imoni?" My eyes turned towards her.

"I would like to know how will this work. I mean I understood what you said, but who will be filling his spot?" She questioned.

"Great question. I may have lightly touched that topic, but to sum up the answer to your question it would mainly be his team working a bit harder. The rest of you guys are not specialized in that field to know how to work it, therefore I do not expect y'all to pick up his role.

But, since we do not have that position filled it is also y'all responsible to make sure the information you are receiving is correct. Does that answer your question?"

Imoni nodded before jotting down a few things Jailanee said earlier. "Yes, thank you."

There were a few more questions asked which I knew would happen. Though, I do not mind because the more questions being asked hopefully would result in the less issues the company would encounter.

The meeting ran over by about 20 minutes. The only thing I had on my agenda today was to host the meeting, I was overly thrilled to leave now. I made it out the building and headed towards my car. Once I got there, I made a mental note to have the next meeting via Zoom especially if it's the only thing I have to do.

As I was about to turn some music on, my mind ran on Kamya. I cussed under my breath once I realized I never texted Mya back. "Shit." I sat in the parking lot and found myself texting Mya.

mya <3

shit my bad:

:yeah yo bad nigga

fuck?:

:shut up im highly upset with you jailanee

and may i ask why?:

:no you may not
:you should already fucking know why
:the fuck?

you right, im sorry:

:i don't accept that sorry ass apology

I groaned loudly. I decided when I make it home I'll call Mya and give her a better apology. Right now I just wanted to be back in my space.

The whole drive back home I was slightly irritated. The music calmed my nerves a bit, but I still found myself irritable because of Mya's attitude. I learned not to let her attitude get the best of me, though it gets frustrating sometimes because I'm not used to this and I be trying.

Once I made it into the house it did not take long for me to call Mya's phone. I planted myself on the couch with just my tank top and boxers on while I waited for Mya to pick up.
