Jailanee's Perspective
_

Since I've been promoted I moved offices, I am now situated in the main headquarters that oversees the other corporations. My office is still in my company, but less occupied. I only go there if an emergency happens, which is rarely.

The protocols I advise them to follow gets majority of the problems solved, leading me to hardly ever have to go out there. Occasionally I'll go there every so often to check in on my team. They have been working tremendously hard and I do everything in my power to congratulate them.

I decided it was best to come into the office earlier than usual to get things done. I had to go over a bunch of paperwork which was tedious to do.

A few hours went by, I was sitting in the office still going over the details that each company sent in. Many of these businesses have fallen into a dreadful spot. I've been working to find ways that'll stabilize their business, but the issue seems to be growing larger in their business.

In the process of making an Excel spreadsheet, my phone dinged indicating I received a text. In hopes it was Mya, I grabbed my phone.

Turns out it was Zenya. We haven't spoken in a minute, once we bumped into each other in the parking lot that day, we texted occasionally. But, after a while the conversation went dead and neither of us reached out again.

Zenya

: Congratulations on your position. I just found out the news.

thank you man:
how you holding up?:

: Man I'm hanging in there
: Did I tell you about my new position?

nah wassup?:

I found out that Zenya works at one of the companies I'm now managing. When I first got into the business, she swore to me she'll never get into financing because it seemed complex. So I am surprised to know she works there now.

I'm guessing that is how she figured out about my new position.

The office day was pretty long. I'm not accustomed to be sitting in the office majority of the day. Though, this position is new and trying to get used to everything that comes with this job, I could understand. So far the workload was not as bad as I thought.

Kamya ran across my mind from time-to-time as the day went on. That night she left, opened my eyes to many things. She's always crossed me as a cry baby but to actually see her in that state made my heart ache.

She was crushed that she had to leave and the expression on her face weighted heavy on my mind. Her nose was slightly red as her eyes reflected the same color, glistening with tears. The first thing that came to my mind was to hold her, which I did.

I never thought I would've been in this position. To think I met her online and now hanging out with her is bizarre to me.

Just then my phone vibrated, Mya sent me an attachment. She wore the jeans we made the first night she was here, the sight lighten my heart. Mya looking beautiful as always. I hearted the message.

mya <3

: thank you

After some pleading, Mya blessed my phone once more with her face. The earlier set of pictures she sent were mirror pics, but this time she sent selfies. Her beautiful features were displayed, Mya's locs were down but framed her face well.

I got a bit distracted in phone texting Mya. I decided it was time to start leaving the office, I sat in here mostly all day with no breaks. I gathered up all my belongings, placing everything where they needed to be before exiting.

I texted Mya letting her know that I'll talk to her when I get home, also telling her to text me once she reaches her destination.

Once I got into the house I released the breath I wasn't aware I was holding. The atmosphere of my home relaxed me, I wanted nothing more than to lay down. My body ached from sitting at the desk for too long.

I took a much needed shower, it was just after 5pm. Hungry crept in, after my shower I found my way to the kitchen. I grabbed one the meal preps I had before heating it up. Once I was satisfied I made my way to my bed.

I settled on taking a nap just to relax my mind and body. I engulfed myself into the sheets. I remembered shortly after Mya left, her scent lingered in my bed. I would lay here just to feel closer to her, but now the scent has worn off. I grew to miss her.

The ringing of my phone woke me up out my sleep. It was barely after 10pm, it could only be one person calling me at this time. I answered the phone without looking at the contact.

Mya's face popped up on my phone. "Heyy jai jai!" By the looks of it, she was excited to see me.

"Hey love, wassup?" I responded back. My voice was raspy due to me just waking up.

"Did I wake you? I'm sorry."

"No, it's okay. I missed you," I confessed. I stirred, trying to position the phone at a better angle to see her. "What you doing?" I asked.

She chuckled softly at my response. "I missed you more. I just got back and you ran across my mind so I wanted to call." Now that the phone was angled better, I noticed Mya was in her room with the red led lights being the only source of light.

"Did you enjoy yourself?" I questioned again. I wanted to hear her rant. Which she did. I simply listened to her as she talked me back into my slumber.

"Hey, you listening to me?" She cut herself off mid sentence.

"Hm, yeah." My sleepy voice peaked as I tried hard to keep up.

"Man you sleep," She laughed. "Goodnight jai jai."

"Goodnight love."
