_Kamya's Perspective
_"You got everything you need?" Jaz asked as we finished packing a small suitcase for me.
Jazmine's family is hosting a family reunion this weekend and invited both Jaz and I. We grew up together making us practically family, her family adores me and vice versa. Since I'll only be down there for a couple of days, I only packed a few things.
"Yeah I believe so. If anything I would buy a few things out there." I stated.
Jaz stared at me. "Waste of money. Double check before we leave Kamya." She stated sternly.
My mom emerged into my room. "Y'all need anything? I made some cookies-"
Before my mom could finish her sentence I butted in. "I want cookies." I practically yelled.
Jaz laughed. "Mya relax you cookie addict."
"Child get out my face," my mom said as she walked into my room. "These were mainly for Jaz."
I scrunched my face up. "Whatever momma." I muttered, upset.
"Girl I'm just playing," she handed me a cookie. "Here kamie baby."
"Thank you," I spoke with a big grin. I looked around my room noticing Jaz was not in there anymore. "Wait, where did Jaz big self go."
My mom hit my upside my head.
"Ow! Sorry."
Jazmine came back into the room with a few essentials and placed them in my bag. Whatever I'm a big girl I can pack myself.
Once we finished packing we spoke with my mom again before heading out.
"Oh my, I'm going to miss y'all so much. Make sure you take pictures of the little munchkins." My mom said referring to Jazmine's nieces and nephews.
"I will momma." Jaz said while gathering my bags at the door. Again I'm a big girl. Whatever.
I sat at the island in the kitchen as they spoke.
"And make sure you tell your mom when it's on sight we fighting. Matter fact let me text her." My mom spoke playfully. She pulled out her phone I'm guessing to actually text Jaz mom.
We laughed at her. My mom and Jaz mom stay play fighting whenever they get around each other. Then, Jaz and I jump in and get our butts beat.
"Okay bye guys. Be safe I love y'all."
We said our 'bye's' and 'I love you's' before we left out. On the way to the airport we stopped at the store to get something to eat. Who paying for airport food? Not me.
Then of course Jazmine forgot to pack her bags into the car before coming to my house, we had to take a detour to her house to grab her bags. At her house I talked her out of leaving her car at the airport. It's a pointless and that is what I was trying to explain to her.
"You talking about I like wasting money, you trying to waste your money." I spoke.
"This different." She rebutted.
I rolled my eyes. "It's not. You gon pay to leave the car there then pay to get a rental when we get there. Waste!" I yelled the last part.
She huffed because she knew I was right. Which lead us into calling an Uber. I win again :).
The main thing I hated about traveling is the airport. Everything became hectic once we made it there. We made sure to have everything in order, but of course they always find an issue.
"It seems that your luggage is overweight. You would have to pay extra in order for us to board it with you." The airport staff told Jaz. She did overpack her bag because she intended to leave a few days after me.
"How much would that be?" She questioned. I was informed to head through security, leaving Jaz looking for answers.
Their conversation faded away as I found myself walking through the metal detectors. Once security was done, I waited for Jaz on the other end. I wanted us to find the terminal together. A few minutes later I seen Jaz finishing up and we made our way.
"Bro I hate this place." Jaz exclaimed.
I nodded in agreement. "Uh never again. How much they charged you?"
"A hundred fucking dollars." She nearly yelled.
"And you paid that?" I asked in disbelief.
She gave me a look. "What you wanted me to do?"
"Girl I don't know. Next time we driving down there. That's what we should've done in the first place." I said a little bit upset. Now that I think about it, that is exactly what we should have done. It could have been a great road trip plus it is not an overly long drive.
We finally made it to the terminal after getting lost 100 times, literally. We waited for them to inform us when to board the plane. Settling in the seating area I pulled my phone out to text Jai. I informed her earlier I would be busy today.
