_Jailanee's Perspective
_"I knew I'd see you again soon." The beautiful lady that displayed on Mya's phone weeks ago spoke. She looked absolutely amazing in person. "Kamie speaks about you a lot." Ms. Kim continued.
"Momma K stop. I'm getting my mom on you." Mya groaned.
"Your momma know better. Try me!"
I chuckled at them. "It's nice to see you again. You have a beautiful home." I complimented.
"Thank you honey." Ms. Kim turned towards Mya. "She is the sweetest, isn't she so sweet."
I noticed the way Mya's face flustered at the comment made. She looked beautiful as always, her hair was pulled back out of her face. Mya wore a red Nike hoodie paired with some gray sweats. I scanned her from head to toe, tearing my eyes away once she caught me gawking.
"Thank you." I smiled partly at the compliment, but more so because Mya caught me.
I haven't gotten to meet the rest of Mya's family. Since I walked through the door Ms. Kim has been conversing with me. The older lady was truly beautiful and her energy was welcoming.
An alarmed went off breaking our conversation. "Give me a minute." Ms. Kim spoke before she disappeared behind the walls.
My attention went to Mya. "You look good." I complimented.
"You say that every time you see me." She rolled her eyes with the sweetest smile displayed on her face.
"Cause you always look good."
"Thank you and thank you for coming too." She walked towards me, closing the distance between us.
I smile softly at Mya. My arms wrapped around her, pulling her slim figure into a warm hug. "Of course love." I placed a small kiss on her forehead.
"You smell good. You got a new cologne?"
I smiled taking in the fact she noticed the difference. "Yeah actually, I just got it earlier today. I wanted to try something new."
She hummed. "I just might like this one a little more than the other." Mya confessed.
"Yeah?"
She nodded, her eyes looking up into mines. Kamya took a long whiff of me causing us to burst into a fit of laughter. "Girl move." I laughed.
"Deadass, I might have to steal that from you."
"I know you not cussing." A short fair skinned lady appeared behind Mya. The resemblance she held with Kamya led me to believe she's her mom. "And who is this?" She questioned referring to me.
"Your ears playing tricks on you and this is Jailanee. Jai this is my mom."
In the moment I felt a wave of unusual nervousness, though I always held my confidence. I couldn't remember the last time meeting someone else's family, the feeling felt foreign and a bit uncomfortable.
