Jailanee's Perspective
_

"Wassup Mya, how is everything going?" I asked once we got on the phone. She texted me last night letting me know she landed, ever since I haven't heard from her again. I called just to check on her, making sure everything was good.

Her vibrant face appeared into the camera. "It's going girl. I'm at Jaz's momma house right now."

Just then a beautiful golden dark skin lady came to view. "Hey honey, what's your name?" She asked.

"H-hi ma'am my name's Jailanee." I stumbled a bit. Both startled by her presence and mesmerized.

"That's such a beautiful name. You can call me Ms. Kim." She spoke as she took the phone away from Mya. You can hear the sigh Mya let out in the background.

"Momma K can I please have my phone back?" Mya asked.

Ms. Kim hushed her. "How old are you? I have never seen you around before." Ms. Kim asked once she directed her attention back to the phone.

"I'm 22 and me and Mya recently met." I answered.

"Oh," she stated surprised. "You do know Kamya is 18 correct?"

"Mommaaa." Mya dragged out. You can still hear her loud and clear in the background.

I chuckled. "Yes, I'm aware. We are not dating though." I was a bit confused. 18 years old is legal even if we were dating, but I brushed it off trying to be respectful.

"Mhm," she stated in a way like she knew something I didn't. "Oh okay. It was nice speaking to you though Jailanee, hopefully we meet again soon." Ms. Kim said with a warming smile.

"Nice speaking to you too Ms. Kim." I returned the smile back.

"Here kamie." Ms. Kim said handing back the phone to Kamya.

Once Mya was back into the view she rolled her eyes playfully. She waited until Ms. Kim was out of sight to speak. "I am sorry about that." She laughed.

"She bad!" I yelled playfully. "Had a nigga nervous as fuck."

"You were over there stuttering and shit. Plus, I never heard you speak so proper." Mya teased.

I rolled my eyes. "I speak proper all day everyday girl and I definitely did not stutter." I dismissed her quickly.

"I don't know about all of that boo." Mya stated.

I noticed Mya getting comfortable on the couch. She had a gray blanket that cover her as she leaned back in the couch. Her anemic self. You could hear the show she was watching playing in the background, her eyes would shift between the phone and the TV.

"How was your flight? I figured you were just settling in and stuff, but after last night you went MIA." I spoke after a brief second of silence, mainly due to me gazing at Mya.
