The Unknown Fleet - Chapter 12

- Chapter 12, Kraken's Difficulties -

...

The first day has begun! With Uno wearing the wrong uniform, Sherwin getting a bike, Isabelle being shipped with Uno, and Lance... Having an interest in a blonde named Olivia? Damn, never thought we'd hear that! Lance got himself an actual interest this time, and all of that on the first day... That's Lance-Luck for sure.

Ikeda: "So you're Takeuchi-kun... Alright, go sit in front of Cortez-kun right there."

Sherwin (whispering): "Ayo, Lance??"

Lance: "(Ain't no way.)"

Olivia: "Yes, Sensei."

Olivia would find her seat in front of Lance. For sure, that's Lance's ancestors giving him a gift after being lonely this morning.

Lance: "(Goddamn! I was just saying if I could find a proper woman to care for me, and here's one already!?)"

Ikeda: ahem, "As I was saying, get your English books and go turn to page 1."

Lance, who was now looking in front, was basically seeing Olivia's hair. He turned his book to page 1, but went back to looking at Olivia.

Sherwin (whispering): "What are you doing Lance?"

Lance (whispering): "Did you notice anything about Takeuchi-san?"

Sherwin (whispering): "Why? I mean, she's very kawaii after all, I understand your crush on her."

Lance (whispering): "Since when did I say that??"

Sherwin (whispering): "I can sense it, and I know you when your voice cracks."

Lance (whispering): "My VoIcE cRaCkEd?"

Ikeda: "Cortez and Ilin! What page are we on?"

Both of them: "Erm... Page 3?"

Ikeda: "We're already on page 15!!"

Lance: "O-oh, I see."

Ikeda: "You dare treat your teacher like that!?"

Lance: "Nah, I'm just like that."

Ikeda: "Why you... Your Father surely has the guts to make a son like you. Now both of you! Go stand outside!"

Lance and Sherwin later got up from their seats and went outside as their punishment.

Uno: "Lonely people, very lonely."

Isabelle: "Uno!" smacks his head

Uno: "Ouch."

Olivia: "(What's with these guys..?)"

Cuts to Lance & Sherwin

Lance: "That's your fault for talking during discussion!"

Sherwin: "What did I do? I was just telling you why were you looking at her!"

Lance: "Because I was supposed to look in front!"

Sherwin: "But you were looking completely at Olivia-chan's hair!"

Lance: "Why was I looking at her!?"

Sherwin: "Because you like her!"

Cuts inside the classroom

Ikeda (reading a story): "On May 17, 1915, a U-20 was patrolling near Ireland when they spotted a ship that the Germans told not to sail. They later went for closer examination on what ship it could be and it was the RMS Lusi-"

Hears the argument outside the classroom

Ikeda: "Hold on class, I need to deal with those 2 outside."

Slides door open

Ikeda: "What are you two arguing about!?"

Lance: "...How Lusitania was spotted?"

Ikeda: "H-how did you know what we were discussing about?"

Lance: "Magic Sensei, Magic."

Ikeda: "...Alright, since you're my friend's son, I'll let both of you go back inside."

Lance and Sherwin were allowed back inside the class, but are now awkwardly looked at from the ruckus they made out in the hallway. Both of them sit back down, while still staring at each other in pure anger.

Lance (whispering): "I don't have an interest in her."

Sherwin (whispering): "Yes you do."

Lance, who is always being targeted for the jokes, accidentally made a wrong move.

Lance (whispering): "Well, yes, I do."

Sherwin: "LANCE LIKES OLIVIA-CHAN!!"

Lance: "YOU IDIOT!"

But, what Lance doesn't realize is... He's just daydreaming in class. Both him and Sherwin never even got sent outside the hall.

Lance: "What the-"

Lance was still looking at Olivia of course, but was confused about what just happened.

Sherwin: "I was calling you since earlier, you good bro?"

Ikeda: "Hmph, it's about time you woke up drooling behind Olivia-kun's back."

Lance: "What?"

Now, because Lance was daydreaming, he normally drools, but now, from the way Lance was looking at Olivia, it made him look like he was drooling on her instead.

Lance: "N-no, this is not what it would look like!"

Olivia looks behind and looks at Lance.

Olivia: "Are you daydreaming Cortez-san?"

Lance: "I-, no, I was-"

Ikeda: "We understand Cortez, you just daydreamed, I mean, it depends if you want good grades."

Ikeda intentionally saved Lance from letting Olivia think that she was being drooled on by Lance.

Lance: "(Damn, thanks Sensei.)"

Later, English time ended, a freetime was up. Lance was still alone at his chair, wondering what he could even do if Olivia doesn't even mind him at all now. But then...

Olivia: "Cortez-kun, wanna have one?"

Lance: "Huh?"

Lance is surprised to see Olivia offering him her snack, as Lance forgot to pack up his French Toast this morning.

Olivia: "Here, have one."

Lance gets one from Olivia, and obviously, starts eating.

Lance: "T-thanks, Takeuchi-san."

Olivia: "No, don't call me that! Call me Olivia-chan!"

Lance just can't believe a girl this charismatic would be even in his class. He tries very hard to hide his blush, and he's almost failing. Meanwhile, from the door of the classroom, Uno and Sherwin would be watching Lance's interactions with Olivia.

Sherwin: "Look at him go! That's a sight and a half."

Uno: "Good boy! Very good boy."

Isabelle: "Uno! You're gay!?

Uno: "Bruh."

But, even with Olivia's charm getting into Lance's spirits, Lance still has a lot to do once he gets back home, especially with his determination to reclaim being Izu Skyline's fastest.
