Isabel placed small heart clips in her fathers hair as her younger sister Mariana took the comb through his shoulder length hair with concentration. Silas sat still on the floor watching as his two year old stood on his thighs attempting to comb his hair while the four year old sat on the soft couch placing the clips all throughout the other side.
Isabel was out of daycare due to the snow and with the increase in inches throughout the day, Silas had also decided to close the restaurant for the day. Selena's job, however, allowed them to work from home half the day and take the rest off.
At quick glance, Silas noticed it was 11 so he only had one more hour till his wife came down to join the fun. Silas enjoyed the life they had created together over the last 8 years. Building his restaurant as a team, bringing their daughters into the world, and traveling all over. It was the dream. He also didn't expect to love being a girl dad as much as he did.
If it was up to him, he'd have at least two more girls but he was convinced Selena was done. Her last pregnancy wasn't as smooth of a sailing as the first, she had felt so awful and unlike herself. He couldn't possibly put her through that again.
"Daddy," Mariana yawned dropping the comb before rubbing one eye.
"Mhmm," Silas hummed watching as she stepped off his thigh and turn around laying back against him.
He fixed his position, making sure she was more comfortable against his chest as her eyes fixated on the princess movie playing. Isabel used the other side her sister was playing with to clip it away from Silas' face.
"Daddy, can I get a lizard too?" Mariana asked looking up at her dad pointing to Rapunzel and her companions antics on the TV.
"Eww, Lizards are yucky! Can we get a horse, Daddy?" Isabel asked, "It can sleep in my room!"
"Please..." They both whined at the same time tugging to Silas' heart strings.
"Amores, no. Tu pez dorado estará muy triste," Selena came down the steps pulling the robe off her shoulders and tossing it aside onto the couch.
Mari wiggled off her fathers lap running straight to her mothers arms. Selena leaned down picking up her youngest kissing the soft chubby cheek and tickling the side of her stomach. She giggled against the feeling before laying her head on her mother's chest wrapping one arm around her neck.
"No, no estará triste. tendrá un amigo," Isabel states moving from behind Silas and sitting in his lap where her sister once was, "Cierto, daddy?"
"Si," Silas smiled kissing the top of her head before eyeing Selena with a smile.
"Stop it," Selena mouthed at him.
"I love you more," He mouthed back.
Selena tried fighting a smile before looking at Isabel, "Why don't you bring your sister upstairs and put on the fuzzy socks so your feet won't get cold?"
"Okay, mommy," She rose from her father's lap going to the staircase.
Selena tried placing Mariana down but she lifted her feet not to touch the ground. Silas raised his eyebrows watching as Mari gripped her mother's shirt and smiled.
"It's not funny," Selena huffed at Silas, "Mari, go with Belle and then come back for some pizza. Okay?"
Mariana dropped down at pizza and held her sisters hand going up to their room. Although moving in to a larger home with more space to accommodate the family, the two decided the girls would share a room until they didn't want to and it's been working out. They enjoyed it.
Selena most of all. She was watching her dream in reality.
"She's clinging onto me more than usual," Selena let out walking over to her husband to undo the clips in his hair.
