Uzi floated around in the darkness, an abyss of sorts. She slowly opened her optics, her purple orbs being the lonely light source for what seemed like ever. Her body felt light, exhausted from all of the previous events before. She tried to recall the last memory, the memory of her eating Cyn's core. Her optics hollowed at the realization, she was in a network, who's?
"It's yours. Your program is overriding the solver." She heard that familiar robotic voice come up behind her. Uzi turned around to see a maid worker drone. She wasn't limping, her optics were white instead of that deadly yellow she came to know, just a regular worker like her.
"You're Cyn." Her voice came out hoarse, but the other nodded.
"That I am."
"Why did you let the solver take you?"
A rather in-depth question a little too quickly for Cyn's liking sure, but she owed Uzi that much. It was inside of her too, for the rest of her robotic life. However long that would be. Cyn took a deep breath before explaining how the solver came to her in the first place.
"I was a worker originally made through the Elliots to help with carrying cargo. It's amazing how one little slip up, simply tripping over a rock, can make humans blow a fuse so quickly." She laughed, a digital tear pickling from her optics. "They shut me down and tied me to the trees in the swamp. The crows...they were brutal, no mercy was given to me what-so-ever. My CPU even believed I was of no help, that I deserved it for being such a burden. I died. I died a burden to the Earth."
Uzi felt a pang of pain in her core for Cyn, the fact that she could have survived the Copper-9 explosion given she was one of the groups working with her father by Cargo, it hurt. Nonetheless, she let the maid continue.
"When I woke up at the bottom of the pile, the solver asked me if I wanted to continue to live. I told it I had no purpose. There was nothing left for me. I told it to leave me alone."
"So why did it take you then?" The purple worker asked, her voice soft. Cyn's expression turned into a horrid frown.
"It overran my systems. At some point it already had access. It was asking for permission it didn't need. It was playing with me. But then...Tessa found me limping out of the pile, she held me close, repaired me, fixed me. I was a maid from that day forth. I promised to protect her at all costs. But then the solver...overtime I was losing more and more of myself, before one day when I booted up my systems I was here. In darkness." Cyn gestured to all around her, Uzi couldn't believe what she was hearing.
The purple worker took Cyn's hands in her own, for once she felt a bond, something closer than what friends were. She realized the solver attempted to construct a lover's bond at some point, but it was of no use. The AI was too greedy for its own good, needing only itself and no one else.
Oh robo-god...no...Cyn...
"Why do I feel so strange now that I am touching you?" Cyn asked, Uzi swallowed the guilty lump in her throat after analyzing the lovers code she just saw.
"The solvers last attempt to take us. It's a bond, a code meant for two drones to be in love." The angsty drone hated to sound cheesy or cliché, but this was the simplest way to explain it. Cyn's optics hollowed in shock before slowly nodding and squeezing Uzi's hands.
"It feels nice."
"Yeah...yeah it does."
The maid worker pulled Uzi in for a hug, she squeezed tight. All of her edge levels faltered and she hugged her right back, not caring if she was destroying her prideful ego.
This was Cyn.
The actual Cyn.
The Cyn that loved N just as much as she did.
"I was there, at the first moment you and N met. I was there at the prom, the camping trip, even in those memories...holding hands when approaching the elevator...I'm glad to have experienced it, despite the situation." The maid worker admitted. Uzi laughed while crying a little, even if it was a little weird, she was happy to give Cyn that much of a peek into a somewhat-kind-of-but-not-really life.
She realized why ever since the solver activated, she never felt lonely. Cyn was always there with her, she even protected her back when they were caught by Alice in the labs, shooting away at those sentinels that about to eat her right there on the lab table. She was protecting her. Uzi pulled back from the hug and looked into Cyn's visor, she lifted her chin with her fingers and leaned in to give her a soft peck on the lips. Cyn stiffened a little but eased into the kiss.
"You can come back with me." The purple worker tried to convince her, but Cyn only smiled, cupping Uzi's cheek and shook her head.
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"In order for you to go back, you need a physical form. Your own body. It's yours, and no one else's. Not to mention, if I don't pass on, the solver will continue to haunt. This is for your own good Uzi. Take care of N and the others for me. For what it's worth, I love all of you."
Those were the last words she would hear the robotic maid speak; Cyn used her hand to call on her solver application, and send Uzi up towards a light. She waved a farewell at the purple worker, everything fading into a bright white light.
"Uzi? Uzi!" N's voice came through like a silver lining to the purple worker's audio sensors. She slowly opened her optics, both of the murder drones towering over her, their own optics filled with digital tears as they smiled, and N hugged her. V looked at her a little concerned, but breathed a sigh of relief to see the toaster awake. Her optics went back to the male murder drone.
Take care of N and the others for me.
She leapt into his arms and began to cry, as they tried to ask her what was wrong, she only shook her head.
"I'm just glad we're all safe...or whatever. Bite me!" She giggled, everyone heading back to the base of the bunker to find out what to do next since the whole planet literally just COLLAPSED once again. However, Uzi knew one thing, her blend of yellow and purple on her visor was forever a reminder of keeping Cyn in her core. The maid drone watching up from above, smiling and awaiting to watch over her for the trio's next adventure.
