Olivia came up to Youngwoo and me one day, excitement clear in her eyes. "Guess what? Stray Kids wants to have a practice session with us!" she announced. "They'll guide us through the steps and even teach us."
"Really?" Youngwoo's eyes widened in shock.
I shrugged, smiling. "They've actually practiced with me once before."
Youngwoo gasped, and Olivia didn't look surprised. Instead, she gave me a soft smile. "No wonder, Eva. You're really talented."
I chuckled, about to say something in response, when I heard a woman's voice outside our dorm room, muttering something in Korean. The tone was sharp and accusatory. I knew it wasn't anything good.
I turned to Olivia and Youngwoo. They both looked pale, shock written across their faces. Olivia's expression shifted to anger, and she moved toward the door, fists clenched. I reached out and held her back.
"Liv, no. Just let it go."
"Eva, it's about—"
"Me?" I finished for her, giving a small sigh. "I know, Liv. Aside from you two and the male trainees, it feels like every female trainee hates me. It's been three months sinceI came ,they still won't let it go."
Youngwoo shook his head. "I still don't get why they dislike you so much, Eva."
"Chan oppa thinks it's because they're jealous," I said with a shrug, though I couldn't fully understand it either.
"Chan oppa?" Olivia's eyes lit up, and she wriggled her eyebrows, grinning. "Ooh, secret, secret, Eva? What's the secret here?"
"Oh, shut up," I muttered, rolling my eyes. "It's not like that. We've just been hanging out after practice each week. He gives me advice on surviving in this industry, that's all."
"Every week?" Youngwoo exclaimed, looking even more shocked.
"Of course that's what you pick up on," I mumbled. "Anyway, practice time. Let's go." I turned and left the room.
As I made my way to the practice room, someone suddenly grabbed me from behind and yanked me into a dark room, locking the door behind us.
The space was pitch black, and before I could react, an arm wrapped around my neck, holding me in a tight chokehold as I struggled to free myself. I was defenseless. Suddenly, a punch landed on me from the front. Wait—there were two of them?
"Let me out!" I yelled, struggling for air. "Please, let me out!" I pleaded, but the chokehold only loosened a little, and then another punch struck me in the stomach, winding me.
The lights flicked on, and I squinted, seeing one of the female trainees standing in front of me, eyes blazing.
"How dare you go after Chan oppa," she sneered, punching me again. "Look at me!" Her face twisted in anger. "Don't you think I'm beautiful? If I'm not trying to get his attention, why are you? He's mine, you pathetic flirt."
