Reyes jolted back to reality, her breath coming in sharp gasps. The vision had been vivid, terrifying. A glimpse into her ancestor Clara Martin's past revealed the shocking truth behind the curse that plagued Shadyside. It wasn't Sarah Fier who was to blame; it was Solomon Goode.

The realisation settled heavily in her stomach, a dark truth unfolding like a storm cloud. The Goode line had been complicit all along, serving the devil's commands while the town spiralled deeper into a cycle of violence and death. Nick Goode's presence in both 1978 and the present suddenly made sense; it was as if he were a puppet master, pulling the strings while the rest of Shadyside fell victim to the horrors he perpetuated. The Goode family had reaped the benefits, ascending to positions of power as mayors and sheriffs, all while the people of Shadyside suffered.

Glancing over at Deena, Reyes saw that her friend was also emerging from a similar trance, her face pale and blood pooling from her nose. "Deena!" Reyes reached out, concern flooding her as she watched her friend struggle to regain her composure.

Deena looked like she was about to speak, but the blaring sound of police sirens cut through the air, sharp and jarring.

"Sheriff Goode." Deena whispered; her eyes wide with fear.

The police car screeched to a halt in front of Josh's car, where he and Kate were still oblivious to the chaos unfolding around them.

"We need to help them." Reyes hissed, gripping Deena's hand tightly as she pulled her back up the hill, the urgency of the moment propelling them forward.

By the time they reached the car, Josh and Kate were already outside, speaking to Sheriff Goode. Of course they couldn't just stay inside like they were supposed to.

"What brings you back here?" Reyes heard Goode ask, his voice smooth and deceptively calm. "Where's your sister?"

"Josh! Kate!" Deena shouted, rushing toward them. She grabbed them both and yanked them into the shelter of the woods, their breaths quickening with panic.

"What the hell?" Josh whisper-yelled, confusion etched across his face.

"Shh!" Deena insisted, her voice urgent.
