The trio hurried toward the source of the scream, which echoed eerily from the Arts and Crafts shack. Ziggy and Ella pushed through the throng of panicked campers, adrenaline coursing through their veins as cries and gasps surrounded them.

When they finally reached the front of the crowd, Ella froze, her heart plummeting at the horrifying sight before her. Jeremy, one of the Shadyside campers, lay sprawled on the ground, his body grotesquely mutilated. Blood pooled around him, a dark contrast against the wooden floor, and his skin was torn open in multiple places, leaving a macabre display of crimson and flesh. A wave of nausea washed over Ella; she instinctively clutched her stomach, struggling to keep the bile down.

'Who could have done this?' She thought, her mind racing. The gruesome scene sent shivers down her spine, and she felt the weight of dread settle over her like a suffocating blanket.

"Okay, we all need to leave. Now." Nick's voice cut through the chaos, urgent and commanding as he turned to Ziggy and Ella.

"No, I'm not leaving!" Ziggy protested, her eyes still locked on the horror before them, the fierce determination in her voice a stark contrast to the fear rippling through the crowd.

"Yes, you are." Nick insisted, stepping closer, his expression resolute. "We're going back to the Mess Hall."

Ella glanced at Ziggy, her heart racing. She understood Ziggy's hesitation; the scene was terrifying, but they needed to stick together. The Mess Hall felt like the safest place for them right now. "Okay, fine. We'll go, but only because I want to keep you and Ella safe." Ziggy finally relented, grabbing Ella's hand and intertwining their fingers tightly.

"Thank you." Nick's grip found Ziggy's other hand, creating a small circle of reassurance between them. "Now let's go."

With a nod, Ella started walking, pulling Ziggy gently along. "Let's go, Ziggy. I'm sure your sister will be there already, looking for you."

"I hope so." Ziggy's voice was soft, a hint of vulnerability breaking through her usual bravado. Ella could hear the underlying fear in her tone. She knew how much Ziggy loved her sister, even if she didn't say it often. Just as Ella cherished her own sister, she felt a pang of worry for them both. The thought of losing someone she loved was too much to bear.
