BREAKING NEWS: Marco Valentine's wife, Vivian Valentine, was pronounced dead last night during a fatal car accident.
Marta is looking at the TV.
“Wait, she... Died?” Marta says.
Marta starts smiling and starts jumping in happiness.
“I didn't even need to kill her, the universe heard me!” Marta says.
Marta laughs maniacally as she reads the report about Vivian's death.
“Now that she is out of the way, Marco is finally mine!” Marta says.
Some time has passed since the news was aired. Marco is sitting in his office, his head in his hands as he tries to come to terms with Vivian's sudden death.
Marco leans back in his chair, letting out a heavy sigh as he tries to process his emotions. He turns his chair and looks out of the window at the sky outside.
Few hours later, the funeral for Vivian is being held in a large, somber cemetery. The sky is overcast and the air is cold and damp. Several people have gathered to pay their respects, but Marco stands off to the side, looking detached from the entire event.
The rain begins to fall gently, a cold drizzle that seems to match the somber mood of the gathering. Marco stands there, still apart from everyone else, as the rain slowly soaks through his suit.
“Mama?” Mina says.
Marco flinches a little as he hears the voice. He looks down to see Mina tugging on his pant leg, a confused expression on her face.
“Mama?” Mina continued.
Mina looks around for Vivian. Marco's heart clenches at the sight of Mina calling for Vivian. He kneels down next to her, placing a hand on her little head.
“Mama?” Mina continued one last time.
Marco sighs.
“Mama is on a trip. She'll come back soon,” Marco says.
“Em?” Mina says.
Marco lifts Mina up into his arms, cradling her against his chest.
Mina looks around. Marco looks at Mina's searching eyes. He kisses her forehead gently.
Mina looks at Marco. Marco holds her close, his eyes scanning the surrounding mourners. He can see Marta standing in the distance, her gaze fixed on him.
Marta lets out the smoke from her mouth. Marco's eyes narrow as he notices Marta's cigarette, the smoke curling up into the air.
Marta smirks. Marco turns his head away, avoiding her gaze.
Marco focuses his attention back on Mina, bouncing her gently in his arms to soothe her.
Marco tries to blink back the tears, but one still escapes and rolls down his cheek. He quickly wipes it away, not wanting anyone to notice.
Marco then looks over to see Jessica, sobbing into the shoulder of Layla who is consoling her.
“Why did she have to leave so early?!” Jessica says.
Layla rubs Jessica's back soothingly, trying to calm her down.
“I know, Jessica. I know…” Layla says.
