— Love
DIZZY RETCHED, HOLDING her stomach as she knelt in front of a toilet. Jace swooped into the bathroom and held her hair back. She immediately flushed the toilet and avoided looking at him, embarrassed."Effy's out front waiting, are you staying over at hers or mine?" Jace asked. It was embarrassing he even had to ask that.
Dizzy was currently homeless. By choice. Her father had been living with her aunt, so she had no other choice but to stay there, or with her friends. And she was not attending church every Sunday when she was usually out spoiling her liver.
"Yours," Dizzy moaned, lifting her head up. Jace sighed and plucked the girl from the ground, tossing her over his shoulder like it was easy or something.
Her head spun as her head hung carelessly.
They moved through the crowd swiftly. Jace made it outside in no time. Dizzy recognized Effy's fishnets from the angle she was at.
"She's pissed. I can take care of her, Ef," Jace told the girl. She hummed and examined Dizzy strewn about slung over Jace's shoulder.
"She can't walk?" Effy asked the boy.
Jace sighed and patted her back gently as he stood her up like she was an infant who had been in the crawling stage.
"Hello, Effy," Dizzy said softly, her throat hurt like a bitch.
"Take her home," Effy told Jace before walking.
Jace let out a small huff and helped Dizzy walk to his car. She grumbled as she flopped into his passenger seat.
"Jesus, what did you drink?" Jace asked fastening her belt.
"More like what did I sniff," Dizzy chuckled and Jace pursed his lips. He'd been entirely sober throughout the evening due to insane crash he wanted to avoid in the morning.
He knew something was bothering Dizzy, and he knew it was her housing situation. Or her mother. Or her dog for that matter. There was a whole array of issues.
He got into the drivers seat and started the car while Dizzy began to cry softly to herself.
"What's wrong?" Jace asked and the girl let out a shaky breath.
"Why does everyone leave me?" Dizzy cried. Her voice sounded so broken as she let out small sobs. Jace didn't know how to handle this, but he wanted her to trust him.
"I'm not leaving you anytime soon," Jace said in a promising tone. He truly didn't have any plans on leaving her unless she forced him too.
"Please, spare me," Dizzy mumbled and Jace sighed.
"I'm not leaving you, Dizzy. You hear me? I'm not going anywhere, Diana," Jace tried to force into her head as she looked at him with bloodshot eyes. She let out a shaky breath and nervously grabbed his hand.
"Everyone is temporary, J. They just are," Dizzy whispered as she grazed his knuckles with her thumb.
"I love you," Jace whispered so quietly, you could hear a pin drop over his words.
"Huh?" Dizzy asked with a small smile playing on her lips. He shook his head and began to drive.
"Nothing, Dizz," Jace smiled.

THE DRAPES WERE shut tightly, not a shed of light was coming into contact with Dizzy's eyes if she had anything to do with it. Or make Jace do it.
He brought her a crisp glass of water. He'd been awfully attentive all of a sudden, not that she minded.
"Feeling any better?" Jace asked, raising her legs up as he sat, then placing them on his lap.
"If so much better if you served alcohol," Dizzy quipped.
"Come on, Dizz. You're enough of an alcoholic as is, love," Jace said in a sweet tone that insulted the girl before him.
"Fuck off then. Stop playing the boyfriend," Dizzy spat and Jace pushed her legs off of him. She sat up to face him. "Get out of here."
"No. I'm done playing this cat and mouse game. You always push me away, Dizzy. I don't want to lose you, and I know you don't want to lose me," Jace borderline shouted at the girl as she glared up at him.
"I want you to lose me. You don't understand, Jace. I'm fucked. I'm damaged fucking goods. Nobody wants me for a good fucking reason. My only true friend in this world is one of the darkest people in this world and for good reason. Don't you understand? I am beyond repair. Whatever you think you can do, won't work. I am broken. You can't change me," Dizzy let lose, standing to let her anger bubble to the surface.
"Dizzy, I've seen it all. Your best high, your worst low. I am in for it with you. I'd fucking kill for you. I think you're there one who doesn't understand. Do you get it? I fucking love the shit out of you. I don't care. I don't care about how dark and broken you are. There's no fixing me either, love. You've got what you see," Jace shouted back and Dizzy swallowed unsure of what to do with this information.
"You love me?" Were the first words that left her lips.
"Of course. Do you think I'd hold your hair back when you puke or take care of you when you're sick if I didn't? For fuck sake, you met my grandfather," Jace chuckled, relieved he got this off of his chest.
Dizzy sat down on his bed, the fire within her fizzled out.
"I don't want you to love me."
"Can't help it, love. It's a disease," Jace joked at a poor time, but she still looked at him with a glint of humor.
"I can think of a cure," Dizzy smirked and Jace nudged her.
"There's no cure for this."
Dizzy paused for a moment, so Jace took this as a sign to sit beside her. She looked over at him and placed a kiss on his cheek.
"We'll work on it," Dizzy said before correcting herself. "I can work on it."
"We can work on it," Jace smiled and Dizzy rested her head on his shoulder. "Together."
"Right," Dizzy sighed in a sudden daze as she felt a surge of insurmountable love rush through her.
