JACE WRAPPED HIS arms around Dizzy's waist as she made chicken noodle soup for the two of them. They'd been at her house this time, Jace had already taken a gander around her room, and met her parents. Her mother was day drinking, splashed out on the bottle, and her father was coming in and out of the kitchen.

Maybe to make sure they weren't having kitchen counter sex, she was unsure. That had already been done at Jace's house, no need to do it again.

"Jace, you're still here. Are you staying for dinner?" Her father asked the boy. He unlatched from the man's daughter and faced him. Despite his friends, he was quite respectful to elders.

"If you don't mind, sir," Jace responded while Dizzy stirred the soup with a smile,

"Sure, sure. We can kick around the footie, make a day out of it," Her father suggested and Dizzy spun around to face her dad with a nervous look.

"You really don't have to, Jace'll be fine in here, dad," Dizzy tried to assure him, but her father wouldn't hear about it.

Dizzy didn't mind the fact her father wanted to bond with Jace, it wasn't like they were a couple, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to get them involved like this. Playing with football out back was the equivalent of her father seeing what someone was about.

Nonetheless, the boys ended up out back kicking the black and white patterned ball out back while Dizzy watched them kick it around.

The feeling of joy surged through Dizzy causing her to suppress it. They were just mates that shagged, nothing more. Weren't they?

JACE HAD OFFERED Dizzy to ride with him on their journey. Katie had invited them to go camping at Gobblers End. Nature wasn't exactly Dizzy's friend unless you included weed. If then, plants were her bestfriend and she could tell you about them for hours.

It had been a quiet ride with just the two of them. Much less chaotic than what the rest of them were going through. Jace drove ahead of them, he used to frequent when he was younger with his grandpa. He was a poacher.

"Do you ever wonder why everything nature-esque is green?" Dizzy asked, smoking a cigarette out of the window. Jace chuckled at her words.

"Is that even a word?" Jace quizzed making Dizzy roll her eyes. She handed him the cigarette. "Fine, I think that whoever was picking the colors wanted to make everything green because it's a nice color. Looks good against the blue ocean, very nature-esque some might say."

"Oh, bugger off, you arse," Dizzy sighed causing Jace to reach over and shake her knee to liven her up. She looked over to him, admiring his side profile.
