I stood beside Lan Zhan near the back of the meeting tent. The leaders and head disciples were standing here for a meeting to discuss final preparations for the ambush of the palace. Lan Zhan and I had a plan in place to head out before everyone to start clearing out a path. It will help save the other's energy as Lan Zhan and I were immortal. We have a lot of energy to spend. Zewu Jun was to come with us and Chifeng Zun would lead the others behind us.

"Is it really okay for it only being three people ahead of us?" Jin Zixuan asked. Out of all people, he was the one to ask.

"They wanted to. We won't be too far behind if things get complicated," Chifeng Zun explained.

"Do they have a death wish?" The new head disciple of the Jiang Sect questioned.

"No, but we have some different training techniques that will help us," I said, "we will be fine."

"Still playing the hero," Jiang Cheng mumbled quietly.

I glanced at him and just ignored him, "we will head out in two days to allow our scouts to return with any new information. Be sure to prepare," Chifeng Zun demanded.

Everyone but Chifeng Zun, Zewu Jun, Lan Zhan, and I left, "I hope you know that we will be okay," Wuxian said, "we have trained a lot already."

"I know, we trust you," Zewu Jun said, "remember I am going with you."

"Are you sure?" Lan Zhan asked.

"Yes," Zewu Jun replied, "someone has to keep you two in line."

I blushed knowing what he meant by that. I cleared my throat, "don't know what you are talking about," I said turning away from them.

Lan Zhan placed his hand on my waist and pulled me back to him, "he is just jealous," he said.

I giggled and looked at the two older men. They looked amused by our public display, "maybe he needs a partner himself," I said, "what do you think Chifeng Zun?"

"It's up to him but maybe one would be nice for him," he replied.

Zewu Jun sighed, "I am perfectly content with myself right now."

"If you say so," Lan Zhan said. He then pulled me towards the exit. I smiled and just waved at the other two.

"Behave yourselves," Zewu Jun shouted.

"No," Lan Zhan shouted back and pulled me away.

I laughed as I was dragged back to our tent. Lan Zhan instantly placed a ward over the tent and pulled me into a bone crushing embrace. His lips crashed into mine causing an electric current to travel through my body. I couldn't help but giggle as this was Lan Zhan defying his brother's orders to behave. We took off our outer robes off leaving on a tunic and trousers without pulling apart once. He lifts me up as if I was a bride and lays me down on the cot. He crawled over me, moving his lips down my chin, to my jaw, and further down until he reaches a sensitive spot on my neck. I let out a soft moan as I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist.

This time alone was a nice calm before the battle that was to come. Hopefully this was the last one and we are free of all this chaos. I just want to go back to my life at San Bao and pray that I can take this man with me. I want to marry this man, I want to have him and make sure that no one ever has the chance to claim him as theirs. I know I have consent from his brother but his uncle will be a different matter. I will need Baoshan's help with that one. I can't imagine my life without Lan Zhan.

We spent the evening together, of course we stopped long enough to have a meal. After eating Lan Zhan ravished me until it was time to sleep. I was beyond exhausted but I wouldn't change anything about us. That man knows how to please me. I have read countless of eroticas and I know Lan Zhan has not. He must have read something though because he is damn good in bed. Then again, maybe I was more drawn in due to us being soulmates. I want to do more research on that later when we have time with Baoshan. She would probably let us use her library, or she would just lecture us herself.

The following day, Lan Zhan and I went to an empty yet smaller training field to get in some practice to prepare for the battle. We were marching out tomorrow and we have a lot to do. Zewu Jun joined us at one point to see what we have learned. I ended sparring against him. I have to admit, he and Lan Zhan were called the Twin Jades for a reason. They were well trained fighters and Zewu Jun was ranked first for a reason for his generation. Of course, I did tone it down as I was beyond powerful with my new immortality abilities. I didn't want to use them on him.

We called it a draw and took a small break before Lan Zhan sparred with him. Seeing the two fight was something beyond a different experience. They had similar movements but there was some differences. I noticed Zewu Jun a bit more agile than Lan Zhan, but Lan Zhan's power and strength made up for it. I noticed Lan Zhan fumble but it looked as if he did it on purpose and that gave Zewu Jun the chance to win the spar. Zewu Jun didn't catch it being purposeful, mostly because he was more engrossed into the fight.

"Not bad you two," Zewu Jun said, "and it's good to see you fighting again Wuxian."

"Me too," I said, "I don't regret my decision though. Even if he doesn't know the truth about it. Maybe one day I will tell him but for now, it's best he doesn't know. Especially with the battle coming up. He doesn't need the distraction."

"Knowing his personality, he probably will not be pleased," Zewu Jun said.

"Well, he was on the brink of death. I had to do something. I managed to do okay with it, but he can't," I said, "but it can't happen again as I can't give it up anymore."

"Good," Lan Zhan said. He was a bit bitter about the situation but I can understand that. He doesn't like Jiang Cheng that much. He didn't before the core incident and he definitely doesn't now.

"Don't be petty," I said. Lan Zhan huffed out a sigh and looked away from me. I smiled knowing that he was pouting. I glanced at Zewu Jun, "is he pouting?"

"Yup," Zewu Jun said as he had a better display of Lan Zhan's face, "it is new to me too."

"He hurt Wei Ying," Lan Zhan said, pouting even more.

My heart softened at the display. I moved beside him and took his hand, "I am doing better and I am still alive aren't I?"

He pulled me into a hug, "Mine."

I laughed as I glanced at Zewu Jun. He seemed happy by his brother's new displays. I can imagine how hard it must have been to watch Lan Zhan grow up so distant. I had to admire him for being a good big brother.
