Due to wedding preparations, Lan Zhan and I have been very busy. We hardly have time to talk, let alone see each other. We had to make sure everything was settled in San Bao as the wedding will be held here. It will be a small ceremony though, just members of Gusu Lan and San Bao will be there. Lan Zhan is marrying into San Bao, so it made sense for them to come here for the ceremony.

He was currently in Gusu as the wedding was only a few days away. We were to remain separated until the wedding day. I missed him but I had to deal with it. It was especially hard when it came to balancing my spiritual and resentful energies. Luckily, Baoshan and Qing'Jie had some methods to help me in the meantime. Lan Zhan was otherwise the only person who can really help keep it leveled.

"Just think, you will have him back in just a few days," Qing'Jie said.

I sighed, "and I cannot wait...not that I am not grateful for your help, I just hate these stupid needles," I told her, "Lan Zhan's method is less painful."

"Really?" She asked, "you actually did it before you married?"

"We had to, we were in a war. My energy was all over the place. You and Wai Po said he could help me most through dual cultivation," I replied.

She grinned, "that explains why you like his method better."

"It is a nice experience," I told her, "can we change the subject, it's weird talking about this with you."

"I am a doctor, this stuff is normal to talk about with doctors," she said, "nothing to be ashamed of."

"It's just a bit awkward because I do see you as a sister too," I said, "it's weird."

"Alright, alright," she said, "we can talk about something else...like, are you anxious for the wedding?"

"No, just impatient," I replied, "I just want him to myself already."

She laughed, "he will be officially yours soon enough."

I nodded, "how long will this take?" I asked.

"Just a few minutes," She said, "it's odd, being immortal, I'd imagine that you wouldn't be so imbalanced all the time."

"He should not be," Wai Po said as she entered the room, "it's acting up because someone else is tampering with it."

"You mean, my body is acting out because someone else is trying to experiment with resentment?" I asked.

"You are the balance between the two energies. If you feel an imbalance within your body, it means there is an imbalance in the air. Your body is trying to warn you," she said.

"Someone is trying to use resentment, but won't it cause problems for that person too?" Qing'Jie questioned.

"Yes, but it will take time for them to notice," Wai Po said, "it seems, even though the war is over, there is still something else to fight over."

I sighed, "Lan Zhan will need to be informed," I said, "and so will his uncle and brother."

"I will sent them a letter to let them know," Wai Po said, "for now, just do your best to keep yourself safe."

I nodded. After dealing with my imbalance issue, I just went to my workshop. Of course, peace does not last forever. Something always has to come and ruin it.

"Wei Ying?" Lan Zhan reached out to me telepathically.

"Lan Zhan, are you alright?" I asked.

"We got Baoshan's letter," he said.

Well that was fast, I thought, "I will be okay for now. You and I both know which sect is causing this issue."

"Shufu suspects that too, but Xiongzhang is wary," Lan Zhan said, "he is with Lianfeng Zun a lot these days."

I sighed, "Jin Guangyao...are you okay?"

"I am fine," he replied, "but I worry about you. I also worry about Xiongzhang."

"I have a way to keep an eye on him," I said.

"How?" Lan Zhan asked.

"Use a tracking talisman. Hide it with null talisman so no one knows there is a charm on your brother. The tracking talisman will allow us to know where he is and if he is safe," I explained.

"Let's do it," he said, "just do not overwork yourself. We marry in a couple days. I do not want to see you again and you are exhausted. Take care of yourself."

"Yes sir," I said, "I love you, and I will see you soon."

"And I love you. Take care, Wei Ying, and see you soon," he told me.

After that, I got to work. It did not take long for me to make two talismans. I used a small amount of energy to teleport them to Lan Zhan and told him to put them on his brother when he can get the chance.

~*Lan Wangji's POV*~

I sighed after letting Wei Ying go after our chat. This was a mess. How did things turn out like this?

My brother has been acting different ever since he started hanging around Jin Guangyao. I worry about that. I tell Shufu these worries and he notices them too, but Xiongzhang is an adult, he has his own choices, and there has been no proof to warrant intervention. All we can do is sit back and wait.

With my brother around Jin Guangyao more, he is in the hands of the Jin Sect, and they have been causing problems since the war ended. Wanting to be the next sect in power, because they have money and elegance, and such a high reputation. No one can look past the corruption they send out. They have been targeting innocent people, people who have had no take in the war, but they were all residents within Qishan. Because they lived in Qishan, everyone assumes they were under Wen Ruohan.

Once I marry out of the Lan Sect, I will make sure that San Bao is safe. I know the Lan Sect can handle themselves. It is San Bao I worry about. Xiongzhang has not said anything to anyone about the sect, but he could accidentally let it slip and all of Wei Ying's hard work will be in jeopardy. Luckily Baoshan is guarding the place and has special wards around the little sect. If not for her, San Bao may have already fallen. Wei Ying is learning from her every day to learn what she can do, I just hope everything works out. I hate the feeling of unknown worry.
