~*Lan Wangji's POV*~
I cannot remember the last time I was this angry, or this heartbroken. Wei Ying was recovering but it was slow. The poison finally stopped eating away at his body and cleared out of his system, but I could tell the healing process was still just as painful.
Wen Qing would give him a pain medication every couple of hours as it was a bit of help. I could tell it could only help so much though. He couldn't stay awake long enough to really eat let alone talk.
Jin Guangyao was dead but I'd resurrect him and kill him over and over again until I felt satisfied. I would even go as far as doing that in front of Zewu Jun. He wants to be Jin Guangyao's brother instead so I do not see the problem.
There were times when Wei Ying was sleeping, that I would spend outside at the training grounds. The boulders and trees nearby were destroyed by how angry I had been. I'd just rip so many trees from the ground or use my sword to cut them down. I'd even punch boulders causing them to shatter in one hit.
The fields were a mess and I knew that I'd have to clean this up, but I didn't have it in me to do it right now.
"Well, you know, this field could do with a make over anyway," I heard Baoshan say from behind me.
I was panting as I turned to her. I took a moment to calm myself before fully acknowledging her, "I will fix it later," I told her.
"Your anger is justified," she told me, "I do not blame you for doing all this. You needed the outlet."
I sighed, "I just...I wish I knew why my brother was like this all of a sudden. He encouraged me to be friends with Wei Ying when we first met and all of a sudden he is okay with letting Jin Guangyao harm him."
"I cannot tell you how much I want to understand his actions too, but he is keeping it closed up," Baoshan said.
"Let him," I said, "he will just be locked up longer."
"I actually came out here because I received word from Chifeng Zun. He's had some people secretly watching over the Jin Sect. Disciples of the Jin Sect are armed and coming this way. Chifeng Zun has already sent some people to slow them down, even your Uncle did the same. We are all safe inside the barrier but you and I will be strong enough to fight them off," she explained.
"I will tell Wen Qing and Wen Ning to have the kids be brought to the safe house," I said.
"They are already on it," Baoshan said, "I double warded Wei Ying's room for his protection. I know we do not need to worry about anything as long as the barrier is up but it is just a safety measure."
"I appreciate it," I said, "since there is a little bit of time, I will go see him for a minute."
"Alright," she said, "I suppose I can clean this field up."
"I was going to do that later," I told her as I was going to but since the Jin's were coming, I wanted to prepare and felt I didn't have time to repair the field."
"I got it," she said and with a wave of her hand, the land started to slowly mend itself.
I nodded and thanked her before going to check on Wei Ying.
When I entered, Wen Qing had just given him another dose of pain medicine, "how is he?" I asked.
"He is healing well," she said, "now that the poison is completely gone, he should be healing faster. I keep checking over by sending some spiritual energy through to monitor his condition. His body was fighting the poison too much for it to properly heal. He is able to heal normally now. I know you have a fight coming up, but since you two are compatible, send some spiritual energy to him every few hours to help speed the process. That is all he needs now is time."
I nodded, "I am glad he is doing better, the pain medicine then?"
"I just want to make sure he isn't in any discomfort," She said, "sometimes healing can be painful."
I nodded again. She pats my shoulder before stepping out. I sighed and sat on the bed beside him. I leaned down and placed a kiss on his forehead before resting mine to his, "I miss you so much," I whispered, "I miss your smile, your laugh, your voice. I miss the warmth you give off...I have to go fight soon. I promise to come back to you safely."
I placed another kiss on his forehead before sitting up and placed my hand on his chest. I sent over a bit or spiritual energy to aide his healing. After a few minutes, I sat on the floor beside his bed and began to meditate for a bit. I would be summoned when the time comes.
Soon a knock came and a disciple entered, "it is time, Hanguang Jun," he said.
I nodded and stood, "those who are able to fight, will be stationed at the entrance inside the wards. Do not make any moves unless Baoshan or I say so."
"Yes, Hanguang Jun," he said and left to gather everyone.
I placed on last kiss on Wei Ying's cheek and a small one on his lips before standing up and walking away. It hurts to do so, but I am going to fight for San Bao and protect it with everything I have. This place was peaceful and the people here are so kind and giving. It was a place Wei Ying spent a lot of time building before I found him. I want to make sure all his work remained and than it can thrive more in the future into a promising sect that deserves the same amount of recognition as the other major sects.
I walked out and stood with Baoshan. Shufu had arrived not long ago with some of Gusu's best fighters, "Chifeng Zun managed to cut down some of the numbers but the Jin Sect has a lot more people than he expected to fight. He is ahead of them and will be here just seconds before the Jin's. Be ready," Baoshan said.
I nodded and looked at Shufu, "thanks for coming."
"Of course, this place does not need this kind of hostility towards its people when they have done nothing but try to live in peace. We are here," Shufu said and turned to the disciples, "get in line. I want archers in the towards on either side of us."
"Yes, Master Lan," the disciples said.
"I have some disciples here but they will remain within the barrier unless called upon. They will keep the gate secured if things get out of hand," I explained.
"Alright," Baoshan said.
Just then, a flare shot to the sky. The sect's green color burst and lit the sky. It was time, the Jin's were here. I pulled Bichen from its sheath and summoned Wangji (his Guqin) to hover in front of me. The Nie Sect had arrived and set up a quick formation before we were stormed with people in white and gold robes. I growled and with a flick of my hand, a wave of spiritual energy shot out from my Guqin and knocked back the Jin's that got close.
"You will have to try harder," I told them.
It was as if they took that as a challenge. A lot of the disciples decided they wanted to come straight for me. They didn't know I could cut them all down within just a few seconds. I smiled and put the Guqin away for a bit and held Bichen in a tight hold. I could feel my sword aching to take these people out for trying to take its parter away.
"Let the fight officially begin," I said softly and lunged forward.
