Being back at Cloud Recesses brought back a lot of memories. Most of which were of me either spending time with Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang or teasing Lan Zhan. I smiled at the last thought.
I was sitting in the cold spring, I have to say, even if I am freezing my ass off, it does help. I could already feel a change in my body. The flareups I have been getting have been settling down. Lan Zhan was with me, he was just meditating in the water...for fun.
I scoffed, "You Lans are unbelievable sometimes," I mumbled.
Lan Zhan looked at me with a questioning gaze.
I smiled, "how can you meditate and sit in this cold water for fun? I cannot sit still long enough to meditate properly and I find it boring as hell. Also, this water I feel like I'm turning into an icicle."
"If you find meditation boring, you have not been doing it properly in the first place. How do you have such a strong foundation if you do not meditate? Especially with your old core?" He questioned.
"Well, I think it was because of how active I was and how often I trained. I trained late into the night because Madam Yu didn't like when I trained with the other disciples. She had to deal with it though due to Sect Leader Jiang. Plus, I felt I wouldn't live up to my potential if I didn't train late at night. I hate to create a whole sword routine for myself because I couldn't handle how lazy the Jiang routine seemed. It's not bad but I am just to agile and with Suibian, it's hard to do just any routine," I explained.
He looked at me with such intrigue, "Wei Ying is very talented," he said.
I laughed, "I just wanted to make sure I lived up to my parent's legacy. Sect Leader Jiang never talked about my parents but I know that they were good people from some of the other people I've met. Wai Po even talks to me about them now. It's nice."
"I did not know that," he said.
I smiled and shook my head, "I felt it wasn't worth telling. I wouldn't my talking about my parents more but I don't know much about them other than we had similar values and they were kind. And I am just like my Mother in being mischievous..." I glanced at him, "would you ever talk about your parents if given the chance?"
"Not my father because he was not involved in my life. My mother, was more involved even though she passed before my father did," he explained, "so, I do not mind to an extent."
"Well, if you ever want to tell me about her, I'd love to hear. From what I know, your mother was a very wonderful woman," I said, "can I ask...what happened?"
Lan Zhan shook his head as he looked to find what to say. I sighed and moved to sit on his lap, "it's warmer over here," I said, "and you do not have to tell me. I understand."
Lan Zhan wrapped his arms around me and held me closer, "my parents did love each other, my father met my mother when he was visiting a village further south. He got injured and my mother at the time was a healer in her village and helped him.
"After he healed, he did have to leave but he visited her when he could and even sent dowry. He wanted to marry her. Two days before their wedding, there was an altercation between my mother and another one of our sect members, a male. My father stepped in but my mother killed the man.
"Many members did not believe her when she told them of her assault, and to protect her, father still married her but had to live apart from her and in seclusion. He'd sneak over to her place at night...which eventually resulted in Xiongzhang and me. The only people who knew the truth about what happened were my mother, father, and eventually my uncle believed it. He knew even though my father was in love, he wouldn't lie about something like this."
I nodded, "that was a lot of sharing," I said and placed a kiss on his throat, "thanks for telling me. As for your parents, some rules came into effect afterwards, forbidden to lie, in your home by curfew, and so on."
"You guessed correctly," he said, "how about your parents?"
"Well, they left me at an inn before going out for a night hunt. Usually they would come back but after a few days, they didn't. The owner to the inn took the money my parents left and kicked me out. I stayed nearby down an alley just hoping my parents would come back. More days passed and they never came. I would walk the streets hoping for food, and I heard some people talking about my parents, how they died taking out a dangerous beast. The beast was gone and their sacrifice protected those people, but no one really realized they left a child behind. It was a few years later I think, when Sect Leader Jiang found me," I said.
"Why did it take so long to find you?" He asked.
"I do not know," I answered, "I never really thought about it. Perhaps he didn't know about me or he didn't know where my parents would leave me or if I had died with them. But if he was searching, maybe there would be more Jiang Sect members searching too, but I saw no disciples in purple robes."
"Perhaps you should look more into that," Lan Zhan said.
"How? Everyone who was around back then died in the massacre at Lotus Pier. Jiang Wanyin, Shijie, and I were the only three who survived. Jiang Wanyin had to find new disciples and build everything from the ground up again," I told him, "I was just not there to help him...I couldn't."
"Even if you could, I am glad you didn't," Lan Zhan told me.
"Huh?" I asked confused.
"You gave sacrificed a lot of that sect and you were not given the right amount of credibility," he explained, "you even gave up your cultivation for them, which was a major help in itself. He never thanked you for that, or even showed a bit of gratitude."
"He doesn't know," I said, "even if he did, I still do not think he would change his behavior towards me. Shijie was the only one who truly cared. She may not have been about to cultivate but she still helped me. Some may not think so but I disagree."
He sighed, "alright, alright," he said, "calm down."
I let out a couple deep breaths, "sorry."
"No need to apologize, remember?" He reminded.
"Well, it seems you will have to punish me for it so I can remember it," I told him.
He stared at me for a moment. Even with this water freezing us both, I could feel his erection harden under me. I smiled know that I could do that to him. He stood up with me cradled in his arms, "You asked for it," he said and the next thing I knew, he teleports us to the Jingshi and puts a silencing barrier over it. Well, I did indeed, ask for it.
