__________
The blood on my robes is not mine. I lost count of how many people I had taken out. More than fifty that is for sure. If Jin Guangshan wants to keep losing men, go for it. I am far from tired and I am far from ready to give in. San Bao was my home as it was Wei Ying's. As his husband, it was also my duty to protect this place and the people within those walls.
I have to admit, Jin Guangshan did not skip out on getting good fighters but not good enough to overtake me. Baoshan had been taking out just as many if not more people. By the looks of it, even though we had less people, the number of people from the opposite side was falling faster. The archers were doing well with their aim and taking out people quickly.
Though Baoshan and I could keep fighting, we knew that the others may not be the same. They were not immortal beings like Baoshan and I.
It was odd, I know the Jin Sect had resources but they shouldn't have so many people. I knew he got the minor sects involved who are jealous of Wei Ying's success.
The only sect that was not currently here was the Jiang Sect. Though, aside from Young Maiden Jiang, the former sect Wei Ying grew up in was no longer a part of his life. Perhaps it was best.
As I was fighting, I realized that this was all just too much. A sect that already has everything wants more. They were just like how Wen Ruohan began his downfall. All of this fighting because these people were greedy, arrogant, selfish, and stupid.
The pain in my heart was real, and it ached for its partner. I stood there with my eyes closed, I could sense everyone and everything around me. I could feel the air, its warmth and purity despite all the blood filling it. I felt a power in me I never knew I had.
My eyes shot open, Bichen back at my waist, and I began performing an intricate hand seal. The wind began to pick up, leaves twirled and twisted, giving an idea of how it was moving and where it was. Those leaves became sharp like razors. I soon began to rise into the air, more wind surrounding me.
I then said a chant I never heard before but it just came to me, "Ride the clouds and spar through the sky!"
A rush of wind blew past me and began to cut down the Jin's one by one. I performed another hand seal and Bichen hovered before me. Bichen split into at least twenty swords. This was called Propelling Sword Array, a technique that Wei Ying and I studied from his father's notes.
I held the main Bichen in my hand while the duplicates continued to hover. I swung my arm forward making a slashing motion with Bichen, sending forth all of those extra swords. Each one taking Jin disciples and any other who opposed San Bao.
Soon, I felt that I no longer needed to control the wind or the swords. I called back the swords to remove the array, and I began to float back down to the ground.
Baoshan came beside me and placed a hand on my back, "You did well, Wangji," she assured me, "you found some of your gifts."
"Wind?" I asked.
"Perhaps, or the elements," she replied, "only time will tell if that is what it truly is...as for that sword array, that was one of Wei Changze's techniques."
I nodded and looked out at all the bodies on the ground. I sighed, "we should cleanse the area and put these souls to rest. We may have stopped the Jin Sect for now but it will more than likely not be the end. Not until Sect Leader Jin is gone."
"Why don't you let us handle the bodies," Shufu said coming over to us, "I think after all of that, you should go clean up and rest. I can tell you are stressed out."
I nodded, "is that okay?" I asked Baoshan.
"Go, we have everything here," she said, "go to your husband."
I smiled and bowed to them before heading inside. I went to bath and dress in clean robes before going to see Wei Ying. Of course, he was still unconscious but I could see him getting some color back.
A disciple brought me some food. I ate and then set the tray outside the door for someone to get later. I then laid down beside Wei Ying in the bed and gently pulled him closer to me.
"I miss you so much," I whispered, "I have so much to tell you, my Love."
I was only met with silence. I placed a kiss on his forehead and managed to get some sleep.
When I woke in the morning, I felt a fingers brushing against my forehead, down my nose and against my cheek. My eyes shot open upon realizing that Wei Ying was awake.
"Wei Ying," I said quietly.
He smiled at me, "Good morning my Love," He said.
I sat up carefully not to jostle him, "how are you feeling?" I asked.
"A bit sore, and slightly fatigued, but I am feeling better," he told me, "I woke not long ago. I had couldn't get myself to wake you."
I sighed and laid back down beside him, "I missed you so much."
"I am still here," he said, "...that punishment...am I still in trouble?"
I huffed out a laughed, "no, not after going through all of this...a lot has happened while you were unconscious."
"Will you tell me?" He asked.
"I will, but not now," I told him, "you need to continue to rest. Let me go get Wen Qing."
He nodded, "okay...but can I ask something of you first?"
I looked at him as I sat up, "hmm?"
"Will this husband of mine at least kiss me?" He asked.
I smiled and leaned down, "of course."
It felt good to kiss him again. It was a miracle that he woke up feeling better the morning after the fight with the Jin Sect. I know he needs to know all that has happened, but he just woke up, and he has more recovering to do.
