The night hunt seems to be going alright so far. About an hour in, the sect leaders entered the grounds to see how their disciples were doing. Wuxian and Wangji stuck close together. They found Wen Qing and Wen Ning fairly quickly as they were working together with the Lan disciples who were participating.

"Hmm, seems to me like there is some friendly interaction over here," Wuxian pointed out.

"It's good to see," Zewu Jun said. He and Lan Qiren were following Wuxian and Wangji. They felt it best to stick close together.

"It is," Wuxian said and turned to Wen Qing, "how are things?"

"Everything is going fine," she answered.

"Good, if you need anything, just come to me or Lan Zhan," Wuxian told her.

"We will," she said.

Wangji and Wuxian walked off in another direction. They explored the grounds for a while. They saw some prey but did not fight them as they were for the disciples to hunt. They just left the prey behind.

"So far, only one person has really made me feel uneasy," Wuxian told Wangji.

"Mnn, Jin Guangyao," Wangji said.

"He was asking a lot of questions earlier. He even got some other sects to intervene," Wuxian said, "and the way your brother spoke of him."

"I know, I think we should be careful on what we share with him for now," Wangji said.

Wuxian nodded, "how are you feeling? I bet it's a bit difficult to see your brother like this."

"Not really difficult, just..." Wangji didn't know how to word it.

"You feel abandoned by him in a way," Wuxian said, "your brother became sworn brothers with Jin Guangyao and Chifeng Zun. There is probably a reason why he trusts Jin Guangyao so much."

"Xiongzhang only told me that Jin Guangyao helped him when he went missing after Cloud Recesses was ambushed," Wangji said.

"If that's the case, it could be him repaying that kindness," Wuxian said, "but he is still your brother, has he not reached out to you much?"

Wangji shook his head, "he has not. I have been speaking more with Shufu. He responds faster and knows everything that is happening back at Gusu."

"I see," Wuxian nodded. As the two were walking, a flare suddenly shot up into the sky. It was a signal flare for San Bao, "Lan Zhan?!"

"Mnn," Wangji nodded and the two left to go back to find the Wen Siblings.

When they arrived, Wen Ning was lying on the ground with a sword in his abdomen, and several Jin disciples were surrounding them, "what is the meaning of this?" Wuxian asked.

"You think we do not know who these two really are?" A Jin disciple spat.

"They are my disciples, you are attacking my people because they are doing better at catching prey, is that it? Tell me, who are they?" Wuxian argued back. He glanced at Wen Qing who was crying and tending to her brother's wound.

No one spoke, until a stubborn Jin came forward, "San Bao is small and weak. There are rumors of the people you harbor within the sect."

"What? Elders, farmers, healers, people who do not cultivate?" Wuxian asked, "give me one good reason I shouldn't kill you!?"

"You harm me, you will have my uncle to deal with," the Jin said.

"Just who are you?" Wuxian asked.

"Wei Ying, he is Jin Zixuan's cousin, Jin Zixun," Wangji told him.

"Oh, that is why the arrogance is so strong," Wuxian said and pulled out his sword, "who hurt my people?"

"I did," Jin Zixun answered.

Wuxian huffed and in a flash, he shoved his sword into Jin Zixun's stomach, "how does it feel?" Wuxian asked, "to be stabbed?"

Just then, several other sects and leaders came running. Zewu Jun was in the lead, "what happened?"

"This man attacked my disciples because he finds them suspicious. He also cannot stand that we are small yet we are leading the night hunt for most prey killed," Wuxian spat as he removed his sword from Jin Zixun and knelt beside Wen Ning, "we can teleport him back home."

"Please, he can be saved, I just need the right medicine," Wen Qing said, her voice shaking with sobs.

Wuxian patted her shoulder, "it will be alright," he said and stood up, "the Jin sect has just made an enemy out of San Bao. We may be small but you have no idea who you are messing with!"

"Wei Gongzi, please calm down, we don't want to start another war," Jin Guangyao said.

"Oh? Well your sect should have thought of that before attacking my people for petty reasons. Just know that we have a powerful figure who protects us too. You may have just provoked her ire!" Wuxian said.

"Who?" A Lan disciples asked.

"You will find out," Wuxian said as he placed his hands on Wen Qing and Wen Ning's shoulders and teleported out.

Wangji was still standing there in shock. As soon as Wuxian disappeared he snapped out of it and glared at everyone, "you should have thought before you acted," Wangji said.

"Hanguang Jun?" A Jin disciple questioned.

In a fit of rage, Wangji took Bichen and in a flash, the Jin disciple who had stabbed Wen Ning, screamed. Many were in shock and didn't know what just happened. Wangji attacked and disappeared just as quickly. In the spot where Wangji teleported out, laid an arm and writing on the ground next to it.

Payment for harming my people.

Lan Xichen shuttered at the words. He did not realize just how deep Wangji's anger could go. Now he knew, if anything happened to Wuxian or his people, Wangji would act and the outcome would be like the sight before them now.

"Where is San Bao located?" Sect Leader Jin asked, "I will destroy them for this?!"

"You will never find out," Lan Qiren said, "even if you did, it would be your own downfall, not San Bao's."

"What do you mean?" Jin Guangyao asked.

"The powerful person Wei Wuxian spoke of is his grandmother, immortal Baoshan Sanren. You would not stand a chance," Lan Qiren explained.

Everyone within the crowd seemed to pale upon hearing that name. Everyone knows that the immortal master has always remained hidden, but if she really found her grandson who happens to be Wei Wuxian, then the Jin Sect really did sign its own doom.
