Chifeng Zun decided to plan a lunch but invite Wangji and Wuxian along with Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen. It would be a good excuse just to hang out and maybe get Jin Guangyao to slip up. Chifeng Zun, Zewu Jun, and Jin Guangyao were considered sworn brothers but were known as the Venerated Triad.
The name came about after the sunshot campaign. Nie Mingjue was praised for sweeping over all obstacles and leaving none of the members of the Qishan Wen Clan he faces alive. Lan Xichen often traveled to aid others, saving many lives from danger, recovering lost territory, and assisting narrow escapes, to the extent that his name is seen as a "ray of hope" among those fighting. Jin Guangyao, meanwhile, gains fame for his time as a spy in Nightless City.
Wangji and Wuxian were invited because Wangji being Xichen's brother, he was involved in a lot of things where his brother was. Wuxian being married to Wangji, was along for the support. Also, Lan Xichen takes Chifeng Zun and Jin Guangyao as brothers so to an extent, they both would be considered Wangji's brothers.
They set up lunch at the Qinghe Nie Sect, as it was a place the three brothers met often. Chifeng Zun had a sect to run and often was busy and couldn't leave as much. Zewu Jun was a sect leader, but he had help from his uncle and sect elders so he had a little more free rein.
"I am glad that you set this up, Da-Ge, it's been some time since we all got together," Jin Guangyao said.
Everyone was seated at a table and food was being served, "of course," he said, "with the recent events at the night hunt, I figured Wangji and Wuxian would also like some time out to relax a bit."
Jin Guangyao nodded and smiled. It was his usual innocent smile that made people deem him friendly but not even knowing the cunning nature hiding underneath, "I do apologize for what happened to your disciple. My father's nephew was out of line and that disciple was dealt with," he said.
"It's alright, the disciple has been healing nicely," Wuxian said, "I appreciate the concern though."
"How has San Bao been?" Zewu Jun asked.
"It has been a bit crowded as of late," Wangji replied, "more refugees have been coming seeking shelter. Most that have come through, have been children."
"Where are you located? Are you in need of any assistance?" Jin Guangyao offered.
Wuxian smiled, knowing he has taken the bait, "we took up a place in a small town near Qishan," Wuxian replied, "we relocated there as it was a larger space for all our people," Wuxian realized Zewu Jun might catch on as he had been to San Bao and was not where Wuxian said. Wuxian had to make it sound more believable to Zewu Jun too.
"Alright, I can ask around for you," Jin Guangyao said, "though, being near Qishan, I imagine there are a lot of resentful spirits nearby due to the war. Has it been cleansed?"
"For the most part, there is still a bit to cleanse yet. Lan Zhan and I have been the only two people able to do the job. My grandmother could also assist but she has been helping the medical team and assigned refugees rooms to stay in. She has been around for a long time so she knows how to help in that regard," Wuxian said.
"Er-Ge, why not have your sect help?" Jin Guangyao asked, "being that Wei Gongzi is married to your brother I thought there would be assistance if they needed it."
"I...did not know they were dealing with such problems," Xichen said and looked at Wangji, "why didn't you tell me?"
"We have it handled," Wangji told him, "we are high in cultivation."
"Even so, more help is more efficient," Xichen said.
"Well since you know now, perhaps we can set something up," Wuxian said trying to keep the conversation from escalating.
